Got this for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it. A nice surprise was that it helped my kid overcome her fear of bugs and now she can spend hours outdoors looking for ladybugs and ants. The kit includes a rather big bag to carry around, something that is really handy for going out with kids. Overall the kit is well thought through and nicely put together. The color choice is neutral and may cater to both boys and girls preferences. I loved this product and planing to get more for friends' older children as it is a great gift that will encourage kids to explore and be more aware of their surroundings.

5 stars for two reasons: You get a lot of "stuff" to play with and to think over. Number 2: Never know when a gift-item may inspire future interests: Scientific and otherwise. For boys and girls. Nicely thought out: In that something--, at least one item in this "kit", is bound to inspire. The binoculars are the big hit of course. Crappy cornucopia of soon to be misplaced science and otherwise fun stuff. Perfect. But CLEAN UP after play if there's a little-one; or a crawling baby, dog, or cat around.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the binoculars work. Great items for kids to explore their own backyard or camping trips. I highly recommend this product for high energy kids. Very well bundled and packaged.

This Outdoor Explorer kit makes such a great gift! I really like buying presents that kids can start playing right away and doesn’t need anything extra. There is so much excitement and sharing, whether the kids are using magnifying glass for looking at the bugs or birdwatching using binoculars. We gave this product to each of our grandkids....2 and 4 year old boys... They are using all the different pieces.... Binoculars for seeing the birds, magnifying glass to see spiders closeup, learning about the compass...east, west, south and north.....flashlight for exploring in the dark woods, whistle to call the ducks and geese.....we live on the water....and the backpack they love to wear.....

I bought this for my grandson for his birthday. I will now have to get something more because even though the items in the box look pretty good the bag is way too big for them and the tiny brown box it comes in makes it look like not much. Add to that, the coloring has to be downloaded and printed by you makes this less than a great birthday gift.

Great gift for my son who just turned 6. Binoculars comes with a nice pouch to store and carry them. Magnifying glass is ideal to look at the rocks or critters in the backyard. Perfect outdoor toy to play. I plan to buy another one for my niece as well. Can't wait for summer to go on a camping trip!!!
