How are they fixed in place please

There are circles (10mm approx in diameter )approximately 1/3 from the top edge.When in position drill a pilot hole through these circles and through the slate below.Ensure screws used do not penetrate the felt.

How do they bend? The ones I have been sent look like a flat slate

They are flat slates if you wish to slate a roof. The ridge tiles are shaped to fit over the ridge, there is a difference. When you order make sure you ask for either ridge or roof tiles. They are excellent tiles to work with, very easy to cut to size using a Stanley knife and the look is authentic. Good luck.

Are these 18 inches long or 18 inches in width thanks

18 inches (45cm) long, which seems to be standard UK tile length as concrete tiles are also 18 inch long.
