Good question! The Hibiscus will not winter well outside. The Hibiscus is a tropical plant and will want to be inside in a nice warm spot with directs sunlight for a few hours per day. Kind Regards, Support at American Plant Exchange

The plants I ordered came extremely dry. Be sure to soak over night before planting. One is still in question but the other did extremely well and came with two different color flowers. Recipient was extremely impressed with my gift.
