These are awesome. We've gone through a lot of transformers with our kids these are the best by a lot. My son is 4 1/2 and was able to figure them out pretty fast with a little help the first time. I highly recommend these. They are pretty durable, we haven't had any issues yet at least. He has a lot of fun with them and brings them everywhere we go. They are more expensive than some but they are actually better and are worth the extra cash if you can swing it.

I have no previous experience with such toys, but my impression is that it is really well designed and built. The joints are loose enough for a 4yo to operate and at the same time it's not too flimsy and keeps it's shape. It takes some time to understand how to assemble (especially since it arrives in the robot form), but once learned, it's a lot of fun.
