Extremely nice upgrade for my older car
I replaced the OEM stereo in my '08 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP with this. Car has an amplifier and steering wheel controls so I had to combine this new stereo with a PAC RP5-GM11 wiring interface that I purchased from Crutchfield, along with the appropriate dash kit. After a clean and painless install, the stereo really stood out as the centerpiece of my car's interior. It doesn't look ridiculous like some aftermarket radios and it meshes very well, even next to my old analog controls. You can change the LED color behind the physical buttons so I selected red to match the other dash LEDs. As far as performance, I'm not having any issues with it so far. I've been using an FM transmitter in this car since I bought it almost 7 years ago. I always knew it had radio static and the audio wasn't the cleanest, but I was blown away with the audio quality of this stereo, especially from my iPhone with CarPlay. Zero static, finer volume control, and plenty of EQ adjustments to get your favorite frequencies dialed in, and your least favorite dialed out. The interface has been smooth as well. It doesn't lag any more than the OEM interfaces in my family and friends' newer cars. Responds well to touch, even with the factory screen protector left on. Display is very bright when you have your headlights off, and dims to a comfortable level when your lights are on. The brightness and contrast are fully adjustable in the system settings where you can also find the steering wheel control options. I thought I would have to program the controls through the wiring interface (which was going to be a huge pain), but all I had to do was hold down a button on the steering wheel and then touch the function I wanted that button to do on the screen. It was a little finicky but I eventually got it set up. The only button that didn't work was my 'previous track' button, but I believe that's due to the fact that it's tied into the Onstar system. Holding the button down actually shuts the radio off and causes the Onstar voice to activate. At least in my case. I didn't bother installing the backup cam and I don't use the provided remote control so I can't give any feedback for those. The radio gives you the option to change the wallpaper, but strangely, you need to contact the support team for that. They'll request info about your purchase and car, and the photos you wish to use. They generate an img file, email it back to you, and you have to download it to your device and transfer it to a USB drive. Then you plug the USB drive into the unit. It automatically starts updating and restarts the unit when done. Now you'll see the pictures you sent them are available to select as a wallpaper. The last step of the instructions is to delete the file off your USB drive. Honestly kind of sketchy, but I went through with it and now I have a custom picture on the bootup screen, and as the wallpaper. The rep I spoke with followed through with the whole process promptly. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this product to anyone.

Excellent Value for Adding CarPlay to an Older Vehicle AND Top Notch Customer Service
Bottom line of this review is that the SJoyBring JOY-W022 unit was a high-value upgrade for my truck and that SJoyBring customer service is excellent. On 8/27/2024 I purchased a JOY-W022 to add CarPlay and a reverse camera to my 2003 Ford Ranger. It worked like a gem! I love hands-free wireless CarPlay for navigation, podcasts, and music. Using Siri and Messages on the road has been more handy than I expected. Also, the reliable reverse camera was a great addition that I’ve come to depend upon. Extras of a customized boot screen and wallpaper made it look like an OEM unit and was easy to do with SJoybring support (sjoybring_support 163.com). In my daily use for over 10 months it never glitched or had connection issues, but then people started telling me they had trouble hearing me on phone calls. I don’t make/take many calls so I put it off as poor cell connection since everything else worked perfectly including voice-activating Siri. After more callers said they were unable to hear me, I contacted SJoyBring support (sjoybring_support 163.com). SJoyBring support always acknowledges contact with an immediate email then they will respond to your question within 24 h . . . always. They suggested changing the gain settings and provided instructions but that didn’t help. They then suggested using the external mic but that also didn’t help. I contacted them again on 05/05/2026 to see if there was anything else I could try before I purchase another unit (mine was 20 months old by this time). They explained this was rare and offered to send me a new unit even though I didn’t request this AND my unit was 8 mo beyond warrantee expiration! In 3 days I received the new unit. It installed easily since it was identical to my old unit. The mic worked perfectly both internal and external. (I’ll note that I think Siri may listen through the mic on the iPhone to take commands, this explains why my former mic issues only happened with phone calls). While I wish the mic on the original unit would not have broken, I couldn’t be happier with the final result and SJoyBring’s customer support. For those interested in the DIY installation: Installation was tedious but straight forward with the accurate wiring guides provided. Butt-splicing all the wires with a Scosche FD16B wire harness before installing basically made it plug and play for my truck. If you are installing on a 2003 Ford Ranger, a Metra 95-5817 dash kit works well to get it nice fit/look. Some minor trimming of the top and bottom opening of plastic OEM radio bracket was necessary (nothing visible) but it was easy with a dremmel-like tool and utility knife.

Very Pleased
For the price this radio is exactly as I wanted for an upgrade. Connects perfectly to my carplay, every single time! Pulls up my playlist, I can make handsfree calls, gps, everything my phone does this unit mirrors it perfectly. This is in my 2004 Toyota Celica. Fit was perfect! I STRONGLY recommend an install kit. I had previously installed a different radio, so the wiring harness had already been changed, but still bought the install kit as the sides did need the inserts from the kit. Back up camera perfectly installed and works fantastic! I did email the company and they sent me the update to put my own boot in picture, that went perfectly FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. Sound is great, looks so sleek. I do also recommend getting this unit as it has the am/fm radio as well. I am very pleased with this unit it was a very nice upgrade! Only took us a couple of hours start to finish. I as a consumer always read reviews to make my “big” purchases so I hope my review helps someone else make their decision. I love this in my Celica GT!

works well and is worth the price.
Ok I didn't expect much. But this thing is great. It is very plug and play, the harnesses hook right up, I simply didn't expect it to be this good for the price. IT boot up quick, links to your phone faster than my more expensive one in my Tacoma. Very clear screen, easy controls, gets loud. I cant believe it. My only complaint is it doesnt fit the face of the 2002 Highlander, there is space on both sides of the radio, but I filled it in with some spacer material, so I dont care. Tuner is intuitive, CarPlay works well. Worth the money. Camera install was involved, but thats cause you have to run the wire to the back of the car. Other than that, I would buy it again.

Exactly what I was hoping it would be.
I drive a 22 year old Nissan Maxima and was using an old Pioneer single DIN stereo that was due for a replacement. I knew I wanted a touchscreen double DIN with a backup camera so I bought this SJoyBring stereo. Now, it's been at least a decade since I've gone car stereo shopping so I'm amazed at what you can get for the money now from companies like this Sjoybring. I was thinking it sounded too good to be true for the price but I was wrong. This is a full featured car stereo with great, full sound and a gorgeous screen! The QLED screen on this model really makes the colors pop and is easier to read in bright sunlight than other double din units I've seen with standard LED screens. Navigating around the menus is easy even while driving and the best part is this unit is responsive and not laggy. My Samsung Android phone was easy as can be to pair with this stereo to use with Android Auto. When I start my car this unit pairs with my phone usually within 10 or so seconds. I also tried pairing my daughter's iPhone using Apple Carplay and it worked just as good with that too. Sound quality is superb imo and much better than my old Pioneer unit. There is a graphics equalizer with built in configurations for different music genres. My favorite feature is the back up camera though. Having had a car with no camera before, this is a wonderful feature to have. The camera is very clear, the screen, with it's QLED panel makes it look even better, and it's a wide angle enough camera that I can see people approaching my car in parking lots when they are still out of sight for me. I've been using this now for a few weeks and I'm just as happy with it now than on the first day I installed it. So far it's been flawless and all features have functioned without a hitch. I can definitely recommend this SJoyBring car stereo, especially considering the price advantage it has over the brand name units.
