A good alternative item that complements the PS5 console very well. Aside from cost, it is a good alternate hard drive unit of 1TBif you have issues with external hard drives.‘Big things comes in small packages’ and this little guy is no exception. Man O’ War approves and recommends.

Using with my PS5, it formats and transfers files just fine. Since you cannot play PS5 games from this drive, it is simply for storage and transfers. I have not attempted to play PS4 games from this.I also found out that only one USB extended storage can be used at any given time. I already had a 2TB drive for storage and plugging this in would not work in conjunction with it. Since you can only use one drive at a time, choose the storage space you need to begin with if you don't want to have to swap drives and remember which drive has the games you're stored.Otherwise this works just fine and provides quick access to saved games.

Why in the hell would anyone pay $400 for an external drive that writes slower than other drives yet costs more than double the price??!! Almost any external drive works with the PS5 or PS4 solid state is FAR from necessary. If you're going to Shell out this kind of money buy a 4 TB nvme for your PS5 that you can actually play your PS5 games from. This will only hold them and then you have to transfer them back to internal storage to play them. Will play PS4 games fine but so will ANY other external hard drive. For the insane price of this you could buy a 2TB nvme AND a 4-8TB FASTER write speed external. $400 for this is an INSULT! STAY AWAY!

Purchased for my grown son, who wanted it to expand storage for all of his gaming. He indicated to give it 5 stars - easy to use, no glitches, and expands his storage....does what it is supposed to do.

Connected with my PS5 perfectly, I moved 10 of my games that took up the most storage onto it and it still has a lot of storage left!

I ran stress tests on this drive for over an hour to see how it would hold up to constant read/writes, and it performed very well, maintaining a steady 800-900 MB/sec read and write speed on my MacBook Pro. It also performed well on both my PS4 and PS5, with zero issues loading games from cold storage on my PS5 (since it doesn't allow direct playing of games from external storage) and on my PS4, the games I moved to this drive played just fine.However, the price is a bit of a problem. The PlayStation isn't very picky about external storage, and I have yet to plug in an external SSD that did not work. The challenge mainly comes from Samsung's external offerings, which I also have. They deliver 2,000 MB/sec up and down versus this drive that peaks at 1,000 MB/sec and are the same price or sometimes cheaper on Amazon, depending on sales.So, the bottom line is that this drive works well and is a solid product for its performance. However, it is not a great deal, as it sits right in the middle of the pack price-wise.
