Awesome cutters
These cutters are absolutely superb. They cut bran with ease up to the recommendations and yes, even a bit beyond. Marked manoeuvrability down as the hook end means the jaws have to be opened quite widely and sometimes the adjacent branches and foliage is less than accommodating. But cutting and pruning is excellent. Would recommend.

Sharp and light.
Day 1. The correct tool for the job makes so much difference! Light and easy to use and so sharp. They are making the task of renovating a hedge much easier. My first pair of loppers but i managed so much more with them than when I was using a saw and secateurs!

Excellent piece of kit.
Bought these to help in sorting out two trees of a type which should never be planted in a smaller garden. They had been allowed to spread far too much both upwards and across the way by an elderly couple. These have been able to cut through thinner lower branches with ease as well as trimming higher, thicker branches when felled. You must have a decent amount of working space to allow the handles to open wide enough for the jaws to grip thicker branches. However the longer handles, coupled with the extremely sharp blade make it surprisingly easy to slice through these thicker ones. They appear very well made and it is reassuring to know replacement blades are available even though the blade currently has lost no sharpness after a considerable amount of work.

They will easily cut through 40mm of hard wood - much more ...
Bought to deal with several very large branches that came down over winter. They are light, sharp, and very effective. They will easily cut through 40mm of hard wood - much more is an effort. I was worried a bit about the crank mechanism but it works very well and doesnt jam. The blades seem strong enough that they won't bend (a problem with other loppers I have had). Because of the gearing they do have to be opened very wide to cut larger diameters - which means they are not ideal for overhead work - a long saw would be better anyway for that. Only reason for dropping a star was the ridiculous amount of packaging they arrived in .

Brilliant, strong, ergonomic
Brilliant, strong, ergonomic. These cope very well with awkward and quite thick branches. Perfect for clearing out shrub borders. We have been using them a lot throughout 2025!

Brilliant.
The right tool for the right job and when they say 55mm they mean it. Makes tidying the annual tree growth almost a pleasure. Comfortable to hold and easy to use. Highly recommended.

Well worth the money
So far so good, used it from nee to cut down my 70 year old dog tree which has grown out of control after it was cut two years ago. Cut through thick branches easily and made a hard job easy. Only issue I had was when you had to cut branches that were close together and this cutter requires you to open the arms fairly wide each cut, so ended up using a saw to cut a few branches, but not sure that was the cutters fault, guess it can’t cut literally everywhere and in close confined spaces.

Very pleased with these
Great piece of kit, lops anything you can get into its jaws with ease. Well-made as expected of Fiskars gear and looks like it will last a long time to come. Very pleased.
