A very useful bit of equipment is this! It's basic, but does the job. This product has the slightly longer handle, which does put a little bit of stress on the lightweight plastic, but is necessary when aiming for a ceiling, high corner etc. Good value for the money though.

It definitely catches insects but it also guillotines them when turned! Okay if you're not squeamish or want to be insect friendly.

I am a little disappointed with this spider trap, although having checked I notice now, that I didn't order the extra extension making it a '4 piece' gadget, having bought one in the past from another supplier I had expected something somewhat larger for the price, a false widow moves extremely fast, although not large, and to have a chance of catching it one often needs the trap part to be bigger allowing for this. In addition, the house spiders which visit my house are huge and will hardly fit into the 'trap' part allowing for very long legs!I understand that I cannot return this item and hopefully will be proven wrong in my assessment!in its favour the clear plastic trap part seems quite sturdy enough, though small, so do not agree with others who say that it's 'flimsy'.Hope this helps!

Finally an effective way to remove spiders, mind I trained the teenager to use this item,as mum is still a whimp and freaks out. To my defence...the spiders to be removed are generally massive. Catcher easy to assemble, but be aware it's plastic so don't use greater force. The use is simple, if the spider sits on flat surface,open the slider door, place the basket over the spider and close the slider door. I have found the door slides open very easy, so make sure you either turn it the right way, or hold the door shut. Once the spider( works great on beetles too) is captured it can safely be transported outside with no harm.

Why did you choose this product over others?:Flimsy and thin couldn’t even get the bits to connect properly. Waste of money I’m afraid

Gr8 bit of kit me wife loves it & as im a whooss as well with big spiders that makes 2 of us. even caught a wasp between the glass chandelier hangy bits,(eventually.) others have said it could do with being a bit longer as they're still too close to the bugs, well if you're too close with this get someone else to catch them for you! its 23ins/585mm long. Ok so it could be a bit longer for the spiders at the top of the wall (ceiling height) but then its going to be a bit too flexi so stand on a chair or the settee (sofa if you're posh lol) with one hand on wall to steady yourself, my wife can do it with a healing broken leg in 3 places & 15 bolts in it & she's S*** scared of creepy crawlies. Its cheap, but not trashy, its simple & it works. what more can i say apart from buy one you really wont be sorry.
