Mushroom Cultivation: An Illustrated Guide to Growing Your Own Mushrooms at Home

My mushroom disaster story. . .
So glad this wonderful book has been published, I am someone who needs it: My story so far, bear with me: Two years ago I bought a quantity of mushroom spawn intending to grow mushrooms on shelves in a dark shed, seemed like a good idea, mass production if you like, and I planted them in good rich compost, a year later, not one mushroom, so I gave up resigned to failure and scattered all the compost as a mulch around the garden; three months later, early one morning, you guessed it - mushrooms galore and everywhere I didn't want them, I felt such a fool. I have now moved but want to try again and this book is just perfect for me, it gives all the information I am now too embarrassed to ask for and it is clearly explained and well illustrated, I am so relieved to have it, one of the best gardening books in ages. There is a lot more to growing mushrooms than you might realise so this book is well worth getting.

A must have for any mushroom cultivator!
The book is detailed, lots of pictures and super simple to understand. You can start to apply the techniques right away in your mushroom beds, logs, hay or compost and sawdust/brown rice flour logs for growing inside your home as well.

Easy to Use; Highly Informative
We love this book. We are looking to start cultivating and when my husband unwrapped this book at Christmas, he did not even play his new Playstation that day; he read this book. Has been a clear stepping stone toward becoming mushroom cultivators ourselves.

Nice mushroom information
This book is a nice bit of information about mushrooms that we all know about and some mushrooms that some of us have never heard of before. It got me going on growing mushrooms.

Disappointing.
The pictures are nice but whenever it's the authors pictures, the subjects (the mushroom) are not nice. For a recent book, i would have expected much more information. Nothing new can be learned. Overall it's disappointing.
