Good quality, comfortable to carry and good size

I did not expect this is going be so much fun! plus loads other stuff. disadvantage - very soft. does not keep shape when empty.

Having had several of this type of canvas satchel, one of which I use for work, the other for day tripping, keeping a camera and accessories in it, was interested to try this one as it was a different shape, being larger than the others I had. Decent, well put together bag, it came with a matching pencil case as well. The colour is a pleasing dark grey. The bag has two external individual zipped pockets in the cover flap, which is secured by plastic buckles, which click in easily and hold well. Under the flap there is another larger zipped pocket, with some card and pen slots inside. It also has a round hole suited for charging cables / headphones. On the back is a smaller zipped pocket, suitable for small valuables. Internally it is divided into two open pockets, with a padded divider and securing Velcro, suited for laptops, the base in this section feels padded as well. There are also two smaller open top pockets suited for wallet and phone, with enough room for a modern smartphone (in my case Samsung A34 5G). The pockets for water bottles at the end would take small bottles, but would not take my insulated metal bottle. The shoulder strap is solid, with metal and leather fittings and a padded section, all the stitching seems good, giving the appearance of a bag that will last well. They include two spare zip tags with the bag. I would not use it with a laptop, as very rarely need to carry one, but for an alternative day tripping bag it will be great, when more space is required. Being wider than my existing day trip bag may well be better as it will be easier to find things without them being buried at the bottom. With previous bags have waterproofed them with a spray, this one comes water resistant so that is a bonus. Well-designed bag, either for its advertised purpose with a laptop or for more general use as a messenger bag, with plenty of separate pockets.

Arrived in a paper bag, no protective polythene bag, no manufacturer’s tags and no detachable pouch. The bag itself was ok but I’m not sure if I got a new one???

I've given 3 stars for durability because I haven't had the bag that long or used it that much to be able to give either better or worse than an average but in saying that it looks well made without any loose stitching, the material looks and feels hard wearing, the shoulder strap is wide and comfortable to use with a wider shoulder pad which can be moved along its length to get the ideal position, the underside of this pad is of the same material as the bag which helps to prevent the strap from slipping off your shoulder, 4 stars for water resistance, the material is water resistant and the bag has been used outside in the rain without any problems but there are a couple of gaps in the top of the bag each end of the main zip which will and do let water in, when it is all zipped up and the top flap is over the gaps are not that big but completely sealed would have been better, 5 stars for storage capacity, this bag easily takes my 17inch laptop plus my wifes 15inch laptop and the associated power cables and then there is room for tablets, mobile phones, notepad, pencils, pens and anything else you might need to carry with you, in fact there is probably more storage space than most people are likely to need, so if you need a good carry-all bag this is a good option at a fair price.
