Classic design on a budget
Love this watch. I have a number of watches from vintage Omegas to G-Shocks to ProTrek to military and Apple watch. Yes, my wife does get annoyed but at this price the DW290-1V is the cost of a few City pints. The watch is comfortable, quite sturdy, you can put different straps on (think it's 18mm) and it's water resistant to 200m.Functionality is basic - time, alarm countdown and stopwatch, but do I really need a compass and barometer for everyday use? Nope. The backlight is fairly decent as well. The only issue I do have is that the adjust button is quite recessed and for a sausage fingered person such as myself it can be difficult to press. However, given the basic functionality I don't need to use it that much. So, to sum up, a fairly rugged design classic (featured in Mission Impossible), easy wearing, ridiculously low priced watch that can be your daily beater.

Almost perfect retro watch
I received my watch quicker than the estimated delivery today and it's brilliant in my opinion.I've been pondering buying this watch for a long time now, like a year or so and eventually went for it. It's a watch with the 200M water resistance with the stopwatch and count down timer with an alarm that you can set to a particular day or date or every day. Pretty useful for a reminder to pay those monthly bills. On the wrist it's very comfortable and light and the display is reasonably easy to read. The alarm is not that loud but is in par with most alarm watches I've owned. Compared to G-Shock Squares I have the display is not quite as large or as clear but that is a minor criticism. As for the price it's a bargain. The great backlight can be set to flicker on the alarm, count down and hour signal and is a nice touch as previously mentioned the alarm is not that loud. It might not ultimately be as robust as a G-Shock square but it is a lot cheaper. I highly recommend this watch.

Probably the best CASIO
This watch is great - it has to be the best 200m dive watch with crystal glass screen for the price. It has a toughness that I would say is just as good as a GShock. The matt plastic case, for me is the perfect size, and is not massively oversized like most GShocks. It is also not undersized like the flimsy cheap casio digital watches. This watch still has the vastly superior EL light - which I'm lead to belive is being phased out on environmental grounds - which is a huge bonus.People have complained about several issues. The strap comfort - I have no issues. Its very comfortable. Screen legibility is great. The alarm is just as loud as a DW5600.If you like the aesthetic then buy this watch. To me there are no negatives.

Can’t beat a classic Casio. Made the other half’s day.

Amazing watch for the price
Really enjoy wearing this watch, it feels small and light weight when compared to my G-Shock blackout rangemen, and I can easily see the screen and has everything you need from a daily watch. It’s got a cool nostalgic feel and the movie link makes it even cooler. My only criticism in the strap. As with all casios I find it’s either loose and I can fit a finger under the strap which I know it’s supposed to, or it’s just that bit too tight on the next hole so feels uncomfortable on the wrist. The strap did pinch me a little and leave imprints in my wrist at first but after a couple of wears it’s really comfortable.

Best value Casio ever!
Likes: Everything, mostly that this piece is a far better daily beater than anything else in my collection including the solar fuelled G-Shocks that I own. Yes, you read that correctly, I actually prefer this to my much more expensive Casios, in spite of the fact that this newer arrival will need a battery replacement after a few years. I'd have to replace this one's conventional cell seventeen times (at Renata prices) before the most G-Shock looking other type of Casio that I've ever owned comes close to having cost me solar fuelled watch money. (Probably, and based on my sparing use of the back-light, alarms and timer functions.)Dislikes: None that I've yet found. The strap isn't too bad at all, in fact it's much easier to swap out for a different one than the G-Shocks' straps, all of which need adaptor kits to allow fitting of aftermarket items. This one can be fitted with any 19mm strap or a 20mm strap on its included 19mm spring bars if the strap has a suitable notch taken out of its end loops to clear the raised sections in the yokes that (presumably) are to make it harder to fit aftermarket alternative straps‽Either way, I did fit a cheap (thin) NATO to the watch which, even being a 20mm one, was flexible enough to squeeze in without trouble.I really cannot find anything to dislike, even the fact that this was apparently the watch chosen for use by the main character in some film or other doesn't phase me in the least. Now buy one, it makes sense, I promise!

Decent wristwatch
Build Quality and features are good value for the price. only possible downside is as mentioned in previous reviews the printing on the case wares away in time. However,, i prefer the case without the printing and chose to remove it myself with a pencil eraser the moment i received it. after 10 minutes of light "elbow grease" the watch was "Aged" to my liking without the use of any harmful chemicals or solvents..
