She's a beauty!!! Toddy perfect
Update: 30 Jan 2020. Best buy ever! We've used reusable cheese bags for other filtration purposes but never thought to use it for cold brew until we got tired of clogged filters. This brand was the only one we could find that fit the Toddy Cold Brew just right. And its good, really good. It does the filtration in a a little more than a minute with hardly any residue at the bottom of the Toddy or clogged filters. We still use the filter at the bottom of the Toddy to give double; its also a habit. We use the bag about 3 times in a fortnight to make coffee. The bag can be emptied and is easy to clean. We use Dawn dish washing soap to hand rinse the bag . We also rinse it in vinegar before final wash in water, as that helps rid some of the staining. The bag does become a slightly darker shade from repeated use, but dos not affect quality or usability.(Prev)Disclaimer: it's only our first use, so cannot tell how durable it will be.We have been using the Toddy Cold brew system for a long time for our coffee, and the most frustrating thing was the filter which seemed to clog and the drip took a LOOOONG time. Also, cleaning the filter was no fun. It never felt clean enough.Came across this looking for a good quality cheesecloth/ meshbag of the size that fits into the Toddy system.Great buy.It fits perfectly into the Toddy lining it ,(first fix the stop and the filter). Follow Toddy process to brew coffee/ tea and drain by opening the stop. I loosely tied the drawstring just because it was there. No dregs, the coffee literally pours out and you have it bottled and chilling in a few minutes. Empty the bag, wash in warm water with Dawn soap and let dry. Voila, ready for next use. Cleaning the Toddy is also easier. It is also a great sustainable and cheaper option than single use filter bags. Before first use wash in warm water and dry.

This is the best designed and useful cold-brew filter I have found.
I have tried making cold brew using an expensive metal filter with chain, and a great deal of sludge and grounds would seep out. I tried adding paper filters to the metal one, but it didn't help. I even tried the white nutmilk bags, and the coffee grounds would migrate into the seams as well as leaving sludge behind. Then I saw these filters and thought I would give them a try. I have been amazed how such a simple design can work so well. First, I have no sludge or grounds in my coffee when I brew it. Second, I love the quality and design. The seams are on the outside, so very little of the coffee grounds ever end up in the seams. The material holds up extremely well, and the bag rinses out quickly and dries quickly. The drawstring is of high quality as well.I use an old 80 ounce pickle jar to make my cold brew coffee. I put the bag inside the jar with the top draped over the mouth of the jar. Then I add my coarse ground coffee, pour water in to fill the jar, stir the coffee in the bag, pull up the drawstring to close the bag, wrap the drawstring around the top of the bag and loop the end under one of the circles around the top of the bag, and then set it in the refrigerator until the next morning. At that point I remove and rinse the bag, and I put the brewed coffee in a glass pitcher in the refrigerator - and delicious, non-acid tasting coffee is ready for several days.I surely wish I had found this item first, before wasting money on other, less useful filters.

makes good cold brew
I've been making cold brew for years, using a half-gallon jar and a half pound of coffee that I strain after 12-15 hours with a fine mesh strainer and then again with paper coffee filters. It's a tedious and time consuming process. I make it strong, to sit in the fridge and be mixed each morning with hot water. While the cloth bag method is easier, cleaning it isn't. I used about 1/4 lb. of coarse ground coffee and a quart of water and let it brew 24 hours. It was the right strength, but getting the wet bag of soggy coffee out of the wide-mouth jar was a challenge, and cleaning the bag was a mess. And I did still strain through a paper filter to get the last of the sediment out. I'm working on finding a way to make cleaning the bag less of a pain and will take any suggestions.

Great alternative to expensive systems
I’m about 5 batches in with this now for cold brew. I actually use the measurements suggested by a Toddy brewing system, but instead I use this bag in a 3 QT container. It works out great for large batches of cold brew. Personally, 340 g coffee with 8c water for 16 hours in the countertop produces about 6c of quality concentrate for me.Pros: No need to change filters. No bulky system to store in cabinets or on the counter. Coffee quality has been good.Cons: Some coffee grounds will stick to the bag when emptying it, and will need to be rinsed into the sink. It takes some trial and error to get your measurements and steep time dialed in which means a few batches may not be as good as you’d like. See above for recommendations.
