Not just for someone interested in costumes, but ANY Star Wars fan
Hard to add to what has already been written, but I am writing as someone who is a Star Wars fan in general but not a costume fan in particular. The limited edition is the highest quality imaginable and brings you closer to the making of the Star Wars universe than almost anything I could conceive of at this price point. The book itself has some of the best production qualities I have ever seen. The photography is top-notch, incredibly detailed, and produced in vivid colors. The book is stock full of extra inserts unique to the limited edition. I think of these as special side exhibits in a larger exhibit at a museum of Star Wars costumes. And that doesn't even touch upon (pun intended) the included cloth swatches. You have a large amount of cloth from Vader's cape in Revenge of the Sith and then a booklet underneath the main book with around a dozen swatches from the first 3 movies. If there is one weakness the book concentrates on the first three movies. This is something to truly treasure. With the Blu-Rays coming out there may be more interest in the book. I was surprised to see them still available. If people could preview one in their house they would have been snapped up by now.As an aside this book made me realize what a farce the Academy Awards are. No one, not a single human being alive could truthfully say that Trisha Biggar did not at least deserve an Academy Award nomination for her work on any of the first 3 films, much less an Academy Award. No possible way. But apparently the Academy has something against Lucas and took it out on Biggar. Just points out how pointless and meaningless the whole academy award process is. Trisha YOU know that you did one of the most amazing costuming jobs in the history of cinema if not THE most amazing one. And that is what counts.

Excellent book (especially if you're a Star Wars fan).
For Christmas, I treated myself to the Deluxe edition of the book, “Dressing a Galaxy: The Costume of Star Wars“.There isn't much to say about this book that hasn't been already said. In addition to all the features of the regular book, The Limited Edition special features are as follows (many of the extras are bound in with the book):-Encased in a handmade clamshel box wrapped in fine Japanese silk with a custom made obi wrap closure-5 additional gatefolds-7 bookletsThe P-9 Costume OverlayCut From a Different Cloth: Digital CostumesThe Costumes of the Mos Eisley CantinaHeaddressesClassic CostumesDarth Vader: Creating the Perfect VillainBehind the Seams-4 insertsPostcard sheet of costume detailsPaper doll fold-outFootwear wrapStar Wars A Costume Collection-Authentic Wookiee buckle replica-Vellum envelope with a fabric swatch from the material used in Darth Vader’s cape-Dressing a Galaxy DVD-JAK folder of sixteen of Trisha Biggar’s favorite costumes, which contains actual swatches cut from the same fabrics as the costumes (this is the highlight of the Deluxe edition - but there are not swatches for every costume in the folder. I've read the that the swatches are randomly selected). One important thing to note:-----------------------------------This Deluxe Edition originally was published in 2005. There are 2,500 copies made, of which the first 1,000 were signed by the author / costume designer Trisha Biggar. I ordered mine in December of 2013 and I received #80, thus mine was signed! So keep in mind that they are NOT shipping these in numerical order and you still have a chance to get a signed copy. :)

Must have for anyone interested in Costumes and/or Star Wars
I'm lucky enough to have the special edition, which is signed by Trish Biggar and comes with fabric swatches from the same bolts of fabric they used on several of the costumes including Darth Vader's cape. It also includes a special DVD with behind the scenes of several of the costumes and the creation of Darth Vader's famous costume in ROTS. Did you know that until ROTS Darth Vader's mask had never been symmetrical? Well now you do!It's an amazing book, filled with detailed pictures of the costumes from the prequel films. While these films may not have been that great story (or character) wise, the costumes are spectacular! As a costumer, this book has been one of my biggest inspirations. Reading about the process of designing, the challenges, and the unique sources of some of the inspiration and fabrics is fascinating! This book is a must read for anyone, weather you're a Star Wars fan, costumer, or both!

beautiful but...
I am a passionate lover of Star Wars and costumes so this was right up my alley. You finally get a good long look at the creatures, people and the magnificent costumes of the movies. The only flaw is that it shows that either Trisha or Lucas had a serious logic disconnect when it came to Amidala's clothes. I think they just wanted her to look amazing and she does but their is no continuity. The culture that produced the clothes of Ep. I could not have also had women wearing some of the things Amidala wears in Ep II and the clothes of Ep III look like they came from a differnet planet. In some scenes Amidala looks like she's from Naboo and in some scenes she looks like she's from Riley's Pleasure Planet. There just didn't seem to be too much thought put into her outfits.

Bought for Fabric/Costume Study
Apparently this is a hard to get book. Goodwill listed this on Amazon marketplace and ofc I snagged it. With this day and age of everything AI, you can count on books like this for being an excellent source material for fabric studies for artist.

Brilliant book
If you are a Star Wars fan and are interested how the costumes in films are developed and reflect their characters, you will love this book. It is expensive, but the detail is fantastic and it is well produced - a book you will keep and treasure forever!
