Everlywell HbA1c Test - at-Home Collection Kit Measures Hemoglobin A1c - Accurate Results from a CLIA-Certified Lab Within Days - Ages 18+

Despite this first time purchasing from Amazon, I was easily able to register test. Received lab results in 3 business days of lab's receiving it. I originally joined Everlywell (purchased directly from their site) o/a Oct 2021 because I was gaining weight for no apparent reason. Our insurance had changed and I had no doctor yet so tried Everlywell to hurry things up and test without going anywhere. Turned-out I was prediabetic (insulin-resistant) due to a vitamin D deficiency which was also causing a drop in my estrogen level and my thyroid to malfunction. Figured it out on my own with Everlywell and internet research. Fixed it on my own too. Just needed to eat like a type 2 diabetic for a few weeks and take a D3 + K2 supplement to get my D to an adequate level. Everlywell has been great! It was difficult pricking my own finger the first 2 or 3 tests. Had to work up the courage, but it's a cake-walk now.

Not sure Id recommend this test..I wanted to know my results before my scheduled next MD appt, test was easy to follow and results were back timely.. here’s the issue, my results from the test were 8.0, I freaked out as the highest my A1C has always been below 6.A week after getting my results, I went to my scheduled appt and had bloodwork done. My A1C was 5.5, huge difference in less than 2 weeks.Just wanted to give a heads up about the accuracy of these tests.

Very easy and fast. As accurate as a whole blood test performed in a doctor’s office. In fact the two results were identical

There was only one thing I did not like about this kit. Drawing blood. Everything else seemed good and worthwhile but it just did not work for me. Using that lancet hurt like hell and the kit said that four good drops of blood should cover the test. I used four drops and it did apparently was not enough. It was sloppy work for me as I was getting blood all over despite pricking two fingers. I like that it is a good idea for sending off results but I will stick to the old fashion way and have bloodwork done.

It would be nice to know up front that this is NOT an at home kit. Yes, you take the sample at home, but you need a ton of blood and then have to send it off to a lab. If I had known all this before ordering, I would have waited for my next doctor vist for way, waaay less blood, with instant results and for free. I was looking for the test I could do myself at home with one stick. Wasted my money because I won't be going through all this.

As someone who manages an insane schedule, I needed an easy way to check for diabetes. (I had gestational diabetes and wondered if my recent symptoms were a red flag…) The kit couldn’t have been easier and although the finger prick left a bruise, it honestly wasn’t painful at all. Just follow the directions and you’ll be fine.Note: It did take several days to process once it arrived at the facility, but overall, not a huge deal since the time saved was worth the wait.
