Magnetic Reading Glasses - Original Long (M-L) - Rigid Headband

I bought these glasses in 2021, and five years later I’m finally writing a review. Why now? Because after half a decade of daily use, it’s finally time to replace them—not because they failed, but because I wanted to freshen up my look with a different frame color. My original pair is still perfectly usable. These glasses have been incredibly durable. I work in a warehouse, lifting boxes all day, so they’ve taken more than their fair share of abuse. Through all of it, the frames have never become misaligned, warped, or lost their shape. Another thing I love is that I never lose them. I don’t set them down or wear them on top of my head—they stay around my neck whenever I’m not using them, so they’re always right where I need them. There are very few products I’ve ever felt compelled to recommend without being asked, but these are absolutely one of them. If you’re looking for reading glasses that are comfortable, durable, and built to last, I can honestly say these have exceeded my expectations.

I am a nurse and need to keep my reading glasses handy. I have been using these for years, and I mean YEARS, and have wore out many pairs (which is fine because I always seem to need stronger lenses anyway). My wife was the first to buy these but they didn't work too well with her longer hair - short hair works better for these. She wears glasses that she hangs from those string things and she is always breaking those while mine keeps going and going. I have never broke or lost my glasses and the lens last a long time as well (granted, that is another story as you need to be careful with them). I am sold on Clic glasses. Many adjustments as well!

At 1st they fit a little too tight around my head. Then I figured out that they can be extended to fit my large head. The lenses are some of the very best that I've owned. Very close to a pair of prescription reading glasses I've owned in the past. I'm very pleased with this purchase thus far. In fact, I just ordered my second pair! This time i ordered the transparent frames. All in all I'm impressed. But for $40, you should expect decent quality.

Somewhat thick frames allow for a strong enough magnet to hold the glasses together at just the right tension. Frame thickness also protects lenses from scratches when dropped. Comfortably and very securely hang from neck through all sorts of activities, so falls/scratches/damage/loss minimized. Excellent design for long term functionality. These glasses are solid and secure! Understand too that these glasses cannot be deployed single handed. While holding my phone I can use one pinky from that hand to assist the other hand in putting on these glasses. The band behind your head will disturb your glasses if you lay your head back on a cushion. Design is good enough that you can still read with them being pushed a bit from behind, but just FYI. While they have yet to pick up a single scratch in my month using these (a record!), they do get dirty on the back side of the lenses. Didn’t realize what a pig I am as sometimes crumbs, fizzy drink drops, even tears all seem to collect on the inside of the lenses. Still, I clean them less often than regular glasses that get fingerprint smudges as you fumble with them in/out of pockets. I am very happy I bought these glasses with many more benefits than shortcomings.

Love the ease of these glasses, done have to wonder where I put them down. Wood worker and love the durability of them. Much better quality than other magnifiers I have purchased.

I've purchased five (5) basic black XXL "long" Clic readers with extendable temples over the last several years. I have primarily worn one fully extended and kept the others as spares, and have increased the rx strength over time. The frame fits nicely over my truck's passenger sun visor. The glue holding one of the magnets inside the hole failed once, but I was able to re-glue it. Unfortunately, the right arm on my go-to pair failed recently, making it unwearable. While it had lasted a long time, I am sharing why it failed, because I believe it's a design defect buyers should be aware of. The weak spot is on the outside of the arms where there's a hole in the plastic directly opposite from the long open slot for the temple adjustment. IF you extend the temples to their maximum length (for comfort), the metal rod no longer fills (supports) the hollow plastic arm where the hole is, so it bends there very easily. Over time, repeated flexing of the arm while pulling the strong magnets apart to remove the readers caused the plastic to fatigue and break at that spot, the arm failed and the glasses were unwearable (without unsightly tape). The only way to avoid this is to NOT fully extend the temples, which I found uncomfortably tight and imo defeats the point of buying the "long" model for extra length and comfort. When contacted, the manufacturer seemed more interested in pointing out that I was past their surprisingly short 6-month warranty than hearing about the defect and reviewing the provided photos. How much confidence can they have in the durability of their product to provide such a short warranty? I was definitely disappointed by the failure of my $40+ go-to pair, but more disappointed by the impersonal form-letter responses I received from multiple manufacturer reps. The design is handy, but now i'm not so sure the value for the money is there.

My husband loves these. He doesn’t lose them and always has them with him. Obviously they are more expensive than other readers, but because he doesn’t constantly lose them, the price is worth iI.

These glasses are great - adjustable and comfortable. The best thing is they are always around my neck - out of the way but close - when I need them.

Bought a pair for my hubby. He loves the convenience of having his reading glass always handy. He lost so many pairs od reading glasses before but these ones have not been lost once. Worth the money.
