This works like a charm. I did install it inside of a plastic electrical box.
This little device arrived quickly and is very well made feeling. It has 3 outlets on the front and 3 on the back side.It feels robust and should withstand weather pretty well.It is a decent size so you have room for outdoor decorations and lights. This is as simple as simple gets to install. It comes with a sturdy 2 piece plastic stake that screws into the bottom. A very nice feature. It has a remote control to allow you access to all the on board functions. The remote handles the on off also on the main unit.It also handles the timer functions so you don't need to go outside to reset or set it on the main unit cOnly one function is not remote controlled and this is the light receptor on the front side of the main unit.Since we live in a very wet climate with tornado wind speeds blowing rain in every possible direction seemingly at once. I don't doubt this can withstand rainfall in locations without higher winds.Just what I did with this unit - Sharing the idea to help others. Some reviews say this device isnt as waterproof as it says. Some say it fails after a short time. So with that I decided to try this idea. The project has been working extremely well and also has kept it totally dry. The only downside is no light can reach the light sensor.I bought a plastic electrical box also used for putting plug extenders in, and connecting extension cords so they remain dry. I got the medium sized one found on Amazon and I taped over the back 3 plugs on this device and placed the device into the box and ran the power cord out and the deck lights in.I had to splice the power cord to make it longer using an equal guage wire and amp rating as the power cord. Used electrical tape to seal up the connection and some 3M heavy duty extreme weather tape to wrap the electrical tape in to insure it stays dry. This box can be left sitting on the ground or mounted to a wall, deck, or in my case the railing of my deck in a spot just under the outdoor BBQ table I use.As for the device: It is really great, we love the remote feature as it is not line of site and controls things from about 25 feet away perfectly.I 100% would recommend this device for anyone looking to have some control of outdoor lights and decorations. But understand everything has its limitations. Our environment would be overwhelming for this device if left out in the elements.Heads up if you are not comfortable with my project mentioned then do not attempt it yourself. Please ask someone who has experience to help.

Very helpful
Love this little gadget. I purchased this quite a while back to help me out with the lack of outdoor outlets on my property. I work in the yard a lot and always needing to plug in a tool or light or something and running multiple drop cords from one of the 2 buildings (located on opposite sides of the property) to where I was working became a frustrating task. I also needed a way to power the rope lights on the porch along with the bug zapper light. I just so happened to stumble across this gadget and ordered it. It included a remote control but I don't use it. I can confirm that it works, I just don't use it. It was super easy to set up. Just attach the ground stake to the bottom and stick it in the ground. If you need to move it to a different location all you have to do is pull it up out of the ground and go. It has a power cord attached to it to plug it up and powers the entire unit. Then you have several outlets located on the front and the back. Each one is covered by a piece of plastic and you simply flip it open and plug in your tool/light etc. There's a reset button and a timer and a power button to turn it off and on without having to unplug it. I place mine close to the middle of my yard and my rope lights are constantly powered using this. I also have several other outlets available to use when I need to charge the battery for my leaf blower or drill or my led work light. It's in the yard so it's exposed to rain, humid summer heat, and freezing winter temperatures. No issues with it yet and has held up like I just ordered it yesterday. I plan on getting a couple more to have one for the opposite end of the yard and one to keep in the camper so we can use it to power the string lights and whatnot when we travel. It's been incredibly useful for me.

Remote Power
We really like these because of the remote power. We don’t have to go outside to turn on our patio string lights, decorative water fountain, or holiday inflatables. That is especially handy during inclement weather. We’ve never had issues with rain or snow getting inside. The individual outlets have little covers. You can also set it as a timer. The remote batteries can be replaced with a button battery. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it’s hit or miss of how long these multiple outlet extenders will last. One has lasted us 6 years so far outside through all sorts of weather (and one tornado). Then others have lasted anywhere from 1-3 years. But the price isn’t bad and we do like the performance.

This Thing is the Bomb for Outdoor Holiday Displays
We moved and none of the holiday decorations I used at our old house worked because they were all inside a screened front porch and we don't have one here. I decided to start over and got a couple Halloween inflatables, plus had some lights to string and a new projector to shine on the house. With only one power source by the front door, I went hunting for a better outdoor power management system for it all.I ordered this and can't believe how well it works! I have it set up in the bed to the right of the front door with everything plugged into it. I ran one extension cord under the doormat up against the house where it wouldn't be a trip hazard and plugged the stuff in the bed on the left side of the door into that. I don't use the dusk to dawn because they say inflatables should only run 8 hours. I've been just turning it on around 2 p.m. and then turning it all off when I go to bed -- which I use the remote and don't have to step outside!I am considering getting a second one to plug everything but inflatables into and set it to dusk to dawn, though. For the cost, it's a really well designed, well executed product and worth the price. Highly Recommend!
