Sort of unusual drink texture, but works well for a boost right before a race

I have tried a few other Ucan products prior to this one. I tried the gels (meh on flavor and I did not really like the consistency) and the energy bars (very good!). This energy powder is OK. The flavor is alright. It has a very light orange flavor, which is fine, because I typically don't want something with a strong flavor if I'm sipping on this during long rides or runs. I'm not sure if this is intended as a pre-workout 'snack' to energize you for a workout, but I have used it during long rides as a supplement to the carbs I get from gels/bars. It would probably be fine as an energizing drink before a workout, but I would prefer to eat an energy bar personally. Compared to Hammer's Perpetuem drink, I would say that tastes better than this, but they are similar in caloric / sodium content. It doesn't dissolve super well, so there's that. However, I would prefer this sugar free energy mix over other endurance fuel that has a high sugar content. I actually really like that this product doesn't contain any sugar. It is easy on my stomach too.So although I appreciate that this company is trying to bring products into the sports fueling world that are sugar free and provide a good, steady source of calories, the consistency of this energy mix is not the best. It does provide good, steady energy, the taste is OK (not great but drinkable), and it doesn't contain any sugar. However, for the price, there are better alternatives out there, in my opinion.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I like the individual packets that I can take with me on the go. Also, this product is great because it has less sodium than many other energy drinks and very low in sugar. I have also tried the orange flavor but this is my favorite.

👌 perfect. Sustained fuel for the long runs. During a race, I tried Gu to push through the final few miles and crashed.

It’s pricey but my husband says it’s worth the money and he can tell a difference in his energy level when he doesn’t have it.

I have not had a lot of luck w/ this dissolving in my water bottle well. It seems to sit in the bottom even after shaking. No clue what it is doing in my pack if it has mixed or not.

Great pre post hydration. I feel I’m getting a better work out on my long runs. Training for 2 half and one full marathon this year.
