Fast and easy
I'm using this on a Win10 box. When connected, the computer does not recognize it as a NIC, but a CD Drive. After running the very quick driver install, it shows up as a NIC and indeed delivers the speed it claims to when connected to another 2.5Gb NIC. Pretty cool for the money. Great execution, great form factor, great compatibility, great price. Hopefully the NIC does not burn out after lots of use.

Works perfect for my 2.5g ethernet
i'm middle aged, so when i got an offer to upgrade my internet to 2.5g speed, i had no idea i'd need an adapter.thank goodness they make tech like this for people like me, simple plug-and-play devices that require no tech skills or smarts.just MAKE SURE you have a 3.0 USB port. most modern PCs and laptops have them (after 2018-2019ish), but make sure before buying. the port should say 3.0 above or next to it, or you can google your PC model and find out whether you have 3.0 ports.trust me, i experimented plugging this adapter into a regular USB port, and it didn't work--no 2.5g download speed. but i put it in the 3.0 port, and presto, my speed was something like 2.7, even a little faster than advertised.it's a solid little unit, well built, some folks say you need to update its drivers but i didn't have to, it worked right out of the box (whew). it connected right away and i believe it's compatible with all Windows devices that have a 3.0 USB port.whoever dreams up and makes these handy little USB devices for those of us who don't upgrade our hardware every couple of months, i give you my heartfelt middle-aged thanks.

Upgrading my Network
I usually don't write reviews but this adapter is great, i recently made the move to 2.5g in my nextwork and im running unifi gear and proxmox for my home lab. This was super easy to setup with linux. I now have the freedom of 2.5g from my pc to my home lab and my NAS. Great price as well! It was very compatible with my small homelab pc and offered super fast speeds!

Helped speed up the data flow by 250%.
My Switch had 2 10Gbps RJ-45 ports and 4 2.5Gbps ports. Unfortunately the Switch 10Gbps port thought the UGREEN USB to 5Gbps was only a 1Gbps adapter. Plugged into the 2.5Gbps port and the 5Gbps USB adapter still would only see it as a 1Gbps. This was a FAIL on the Switch that I was using NOT the UGREEN 5Gbps adapter.HOWEVER, I bought THIS UGREEN USB to Ethernet Adapter 2.5Gbs and my lousy SWITCH FINALLY sees at 2.5Gbps.THIS UGREEN adapter increased my speed 250% over the previous speed.BTW, you might want to avoid the NIGGIGA switch if you have a 5Gbps adapter. It will work with the 2.5Gbps and the 10Gbps.

Great function with occasional need to remove and reconnect
Windows 11 home PC. Plug and play with no extra drivers or settings needed. Operating at expected speeds (2Gbps). It has lost network connection and required me to crawl under the desk to unplug and reconnect which was inconvenient and may cause issues for gaming. Possible the design is intended for short term work laptop use. If this particular issue won't really affect you it is a great product. If the drop until you reconnect manually would be an issue you may want to go with a different approach to the USB network adapters.

A great way to add 2.5Gb/s networking to your computer
If you have a 2.5Gb/s network in your home, this adapter is great.I have MacMinis, both 2012, and 2018, and this was a simple plug and play. One Mac needed a reboot to change its network connection, and then, all set.Just a note - If moving files from SSD to SSD, you can hit close to the 2.5GB/s (Close to 300MB/s), but spinning drives will be slower. For most of us, 2.5Gb/s network is the sweet spot in price and performance.

Worked properly right away in Win 11 with the Microsoft driver.
It was plug and play with my Win 11 running on Dell 3050sff usb A port. Tested speed with iperf3 from my cpu to Synology DS218 NAS which I installed this same adapter and got transfer rate of 2.76 GBytes. Had to install a driver onto Nas for adapter to be recognized on usb 3.0 type A port.

Worked perfect for older PC
We upgraded our internet speed and had the sad surprise that both my WiFi card and Ethernet port from 2011 were capped at 120mbps. Thankfully I read the reviews and made sure I had the 3.0 USB port before purchasing (not to be confused with a standard 2.0). I plugged it in and did need to install the driver from the website for my computer to recognize it was an Ethernet connection. After I installed the driver, I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in and it connected to the internet using the Ethernet immediately. It seems most people did not need to do this step from the reviews I read. If you have the 3.0 usb port, this is a great and easy option for an older desktop PC to get the most out of the internet speed you’re paying for without needing to upgrade any internal ports.

Works well for my Raspberry Pi 5
I am using this to connect my Raspberry Pi 5 that is used as a server, to the rest of my network. The chipset (Realtek RTL8156BG) is part of the new Linux kernels, and thus does not need any drivers on modern Linux distros, and probably also does not need a manual install on Windows 11. It has been stable and can provide the throughput it is advertised at on my Rasberry Pi. It will not work at 2.5G speeds on a Switch (2) though, and AFAIK does not work on XBOX Series X/S.

Awesome
Works flawlessly on Windows 11 and Kubuntu 24.04 without having to look for any drivers! Clocks in at 2,5 Gbit as advertised just make sure that your router / switch also supports it! Some routers will state they have one 2,5 Gbit RJ45 socket and they usually mean the WAN connection to your internet supplier - NOT your LAN. Double check this before purchasing ;)
