Fantastic kit for the price
AMAZING kit for a Dino obsessed kid. My daughter had so much fun excavating each piece. The whole experience was novel for her and she enjoyed looking at all the specimens in amber. Great activity for the price. She was engaged for over an hour. My kid is 4, so it was a little challenging to break apart, but with help, she was able to get to each piece. If buying for a younger kid than the suggested age, I recommend having a hammer handy to give a whack to get things going. I will buy more kits from this brand. Lots of fun.

Everything Was Just As Described
Some reviews stated that they didn’t get a single insect or gemstone. Happily, my grandson ended up with all eight insects and four stones!The hammer that comes with the kit won’t work to break the plaster. We had to use a regular small hammer.The kit was intact on arrival. It was not broken or damaged at all.The kit has information cards about the various insects. It’s educational.Very happy with this kit. It was a good purchase.

Highly recommend this dig set!!!
This dig set was one of the coolest ones my kiddo has done. Dig sets usually take an hour at most with my kids, there were so many rocks that it took several hours! The information card describes 12 different rocks and gems, we ended up with a couple duplicates. And the best part (in my opinion) only two were polished stones, we actually get to see what the stones look like before being cut or polished.

Fun set but missing one rock
My son really enjoyed finding the rocks and the 2 luminous ones. Unfortunately we only had 9 rocks in ours. I went through the whole thing with him and we were missing one rock. It is also hard to tell what some of them are because they don't really look like the reference pictures.
