West - Button Max / Min Thermometer

As described excellent service it was just what I wanted for Christmas and the New Year is that enough obviously not?

All fine. The scales (Fahrenheit/ Celsius) are a bit too full ie messy layout,but it works, which is the only important thing.

Seems on the flimsy side but records well, is easily read and has been unaffected by weather conditions so far.

West- buttom max min thermometer. Not recommended. Mine had bubbles beyong the maximum pointer that just would not shake out. Tried the proceedure recommended without success. Pressing the button did nothing.After leaving it upright in a warm room to settle down I tried again to shake them as with our clinical thermometer. It accidentally hit a chair while being shaken so became broken, I binned it and cut my losses.Usually Amazon stuff is excellent.

Worked for a short period of time the the markers would not respond when trying to reset them. Colour of the fluid faded from red to a pale pink/white.Not what I expected in such a short space of time.

Fits the bill

Not a good buy. The Homebase version costs less. The West product has a nasty bright white plastic case and the "Min" indicator tends to stick up and need shaking down to the mercury level. If this goes on I will send it back.

A useful item, of the 3 I ordered 2 failed to function, the blue rods became surrounded by the mercury and no amount of shaking helped the problem, however the other one works perfectly and is extremly easy to use.
