Conical Burr Coffee Bean Grinder, Anti-Static, 48 Settings, Black

Pretty, functional, and clean. I mainly use the grinder for french press and pour-overs. Things I like about this coffee grinder: 1) Price. Very reasonable compared to other burr grinders. I had my initial doubts about the brand. 2) Looks. It doesn't feel cheap. We'll see if it lasts, but for now, it looks great on my countertop. 3) Clean. I'm surprised at how clean the area around the grinder bottom is. I had a B@r@tza Enc0re for years, and I always had to clean up after a grind. When using the grinding chamber, the base remains clean, and the countertop is clean. Their anti-static magic seems to mostly work well, without spraying the beans. 4) Display. The digital display is clear, and I've figured out that at a couple of settings for coarse grind for my french press, around 9 or 10 seconds works just right, without having to leave anything in the chamber. I do wish it would remember my timer setting would stay every time I turn it on, but it's ok, I can live with that. 5) Grind. It's consistent, as far as I can tell. No complaints here. I could do without the beeping (when turning on and when adjusting the timer). I don't see the need for that noise, and it's clear that the grinder is on when the display lights up. IMHO Shardor should completely get rid of those sounds. On a side note, I ran an AI analysis of several sub-$100 grinders, primarily for the purpose of french press, so it had to be good at coarse grinds. Shardor scored at the top for price/quality. Let's hope the good grinding continues

When I was frantically searching for a grinder to replace one that was broken on arrival, this one caught my eye. It was a little bit more expensive, but it offered more grind settings and that had my attention. So I sprang for it, because it looked good and would arrive the next day. When it arrived, I cleaned it up, got it set up, set it somewhere in the espresso range, and tried to pull a shot. I was somewhat disappointed. My machine choked. I adjusted it a few notches coarser. Same deal. So, buyer's note for people planning on using this for espresso? You're looking to sit somewhere closer to the drip range unless you like drinking choked shots. I've also used it for a few batch brews, and had no issues with that. Just know you're gonna have to go coarser than you think you'll need to in order to get that more traditional drip coffee grind. Either that, or I just got super "lucky" with mine. It's not a big deal for me though. It's still fairly consistent and couldn't be much easier to use unless it measured my grinds for me! (It doesn't, but you can set the duration of your grind if you grind by time) As far as the collection container, it's a solid thing. I mean, the entire thing feels solid! You get some stainless steel elements, a receptive touch panel, your hopper is good, it's all very decent for the price. But, back to the canister, your grounds don't stick to it much at all and it actually catches everything! The tolerance between the chute and the canister's lid is tight enough to avoid spillage entirely, at least in my experience. Quick aside, there is a noticeable plastic aroma when you first open the box. Quick wash with soapy water takes care of that, and it doesn't leech into your coffee at all. Of course, it might somewhat if you filled the hopper and let beans sit in there, but I don't. I grind by weight. Another note about that hopper that's pretty cool. If you WERE keeping it full of beans, there's a trapdoor on the bottom that snaps shut if you take the hopper off, so you're not accidentally dumping it. There are still beans left over beneath where the door sits, so I'd still suggest you wait till the grinder is empty before trying to take the hopper off for cleaning, but it's a nice touch that it's there! One minor, case-specific complaint is that this grinder produces more fines than I'd like. It's not fine city out here, but there are definitely enough to impact your shot if you're grinding for espresso. There's a bit more crushing than cutting happening in there, I suspect, so keep that in mind. This isn't a prosumer-level grinder. HOWEVER, it is definitely suitable! My shots are still drinkable, just definitely more bitter than I'd like especially on the finish. Either way though, I don't regret the purchase and for the money, I doubt you would either!

One of the first *purchased* reviews of this SHARDOR Conical Burr Coffee Grinder I offer my insights based on a purchase rather than a promotional trial. I will admit that it took me a couple minute, but after a few trials, probably enough to set the grinders, I am impressed. The machine is well built and simple. Put coffee in the hopper, select a grind time using either increase/decrease buttons, and press start. I usually use 15g for a single cup of pour-over style coffee. Putting precisely 15g of beans into the hopper and selecting 15 seconds conveniently results in the timer shutting off just a second or two after the beans are gone. Admittedly a quibble, but in the interest of a complete review, I don’t get 15g of grounds out. Only 13.5g come out into the grind chamber. You can get another half gram or so out by tapping the machine on top and side, but the remaining grounds stick in the conical section of the burr, requiring a clean out. That’s best accomplished outside with an air can. I don't think any grinder would perform any better. The main reason I purchased this machine was to grind larger amounts of coarse ground coffee for cold brew. So the very first attempt at using the machine for a coarse grind, and I was somewhat disappointed. I found the grind size too fine; more like a medium. But after running three more trials, rotating from the finest to the most coarse setting, the grind sizes are spot on. The fine setting is something I'll not use, but it is powder! Great for espresso and Turkish coffee, I should think. And most important to me, the second run on the coarse setting resulted in a nice, coarse grind, perfect for cold brew and French press. In conclusion, I suspect that running a couple of grinds, while switching between fine and course, is necessary to calibrate those wheels, leaving me with an inexpensive, and perfectly acceptable new coffee grinder.

I’ve been very happy with this grinder so far. The design is beautiful, it feels solid, and it was very easy to assemble right out of the box. The hopper capacity is also generous, which I appreciate. In terms of performance, it has exceeded my expectations. I’ve used it mainly for French press and moka pot so far: French press: grind setting 40 – 15g of coffee in about 11 seconds Moka pot: grind setting 16 – 15g in around 25 seconds In both cases the grind consistency was excellent and very uniform. Another positive surprise was the noise level. Of course it makes some sound like any grinder, but it’s relatively quiet. In fact, I used it early in the morning and it did not wake up my 3-year-old child, which says a lot. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to a couple of small details that could easily be improved: First, the main screen arrived with some scratches. Shipping was fast, but this could likely be prevented by adding a simple protective plastic film during packaging. Second, the included cleaning brush feels a bit underwhelming. The bristles are quite stiff and sparse, which makes it harder to remove coffee particles from the burrs. A brush with softer and denser bristles would work better. It would also be great if the grinder had a dedicated place to store the brush. I’ve seen other grinders where the lid has a small internal hook to hold it, which makes maintenance more convenient. Overall, despite these minor issues, I’m very happy with the purchase. It’s not the cheapest grinder, but the build quality, grind consistency, and performance make it a worthwhile investment.

I've had it for a week. I really like this coffee grinder. It's FAR quieter than the Krupps grinder it replaces. Plus, the quality of the grind seems much higher and more reliable. I'm also using fewer beans now compared to when I was relying on the Krupps grinder. The static-treated grinds bin is great! The grinds easily dump into the coffee maker, no fuss no muss. Love that. Regarding sound: It's fine and reasonable. It's MUCH quieter than the Krupps grinder. My one beef with it: The max grind time is 40 seconds. I wish it could go to 60 sec. because that's the volume of coffee grinds that works well with the grind style and amount I need for my morning pot.

Grinder does what is supposed to. It’s as loud as other grinders I’ve had and the bin is not static free. I have not washed it, since I read that’s what makes the coffee it stick, but I still need to use the little brush to get all the coffee out. I like the digital timer and the settings for different grinds. The grinds are consistent, I dont end up with half of the beans very fine and the other half coarse. I also like the look. I’m happy with it, but it’s not the holy grail some reviews made it sound like.

Thiis is my third Shardor coffee grinder. My original was starting to age out after 5 years, nothing serious , just tired. I bought and returned the model that grinds a minumum of two cups because that was simply too much coffee for one morning. This model grinds precisely enough coffee at the 10 second setting to fill my Kcup. Its much quieter than any other grinder and the nonstatic system keeps the ground coffee where it belongs. The device that receives the ground coffee is rectangular so I can transfer it directly to the Kcup without using a spoon and spilling it.
