Primarily Used Eagle Lake
I bought this care solely to use up on Eagle Lake. Because it is only version one, there was a lot of differences between what the map said, and what was actually there. I will say that we were also running Navionics on a cell phone while we were there, and the LakeMaster chip had a few hazards marked that Navionics did not. That, to me, makes it a very "worth it" purchase.

Good thing I know the lake.
This map is a total disaster. It is so far off (see picture) I pity anybody who is not familiar with the lake (in this case Lac Des Mille Lacs) they're fishing on and relying on this for very simple things like depth. I under stand that no map is perfect and should never ever be totally relied upon for navigation...BUT, and this is a big BUT, indicated depths should at least be within a reasonable percentage of what you are actually seeing on your sonar. My boat position indicates 40 feet of water. My sonar shows 11 feet. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! There is a really old ,like 50 or 60 years old, inaccurate map of Lac Des Mille Lacs they must have used. Fortunately, I have been fishing this lake for 25+ years and was okay. I have no idea why they didn't use the survey the MNR did about 10 years ago and produced a laminated map for purchase. Would be great if they could use that data. But until they do, don't waste your money. I hear Navionics has a much better map that was from an even more recent survey. I will definitely be checking that out.
