The Rosary of Saint John Paul II

Really helped me to pray the rosary in a different light. I am very grateful for this book.

Wonderful book on praying the rosary

This little booklet is easy to carry with. The well selected art works provide a visual help in contemplating each mystery. Insights by Saint John Paul II outlined here are short and precise, and they are applicable to daily life.

Simple and elegant, enhances the prayer and meditation of the rosary. A true blessing.

Beautiful meditations & artwork

If you have ever attempted to pray the Rosary with your family, you may have discovered it is not quite the meditative experience that the writers of many Rosary books put forth. Yes, at its ideal, praying the Rosary should be a quiet time of reflection on the lives of Mary and Jesus, but life with families is rarely ideal. As the father of nine children, Tom Hoopes understands this. In The Rosary of Saint John Paul II: Meditations, Prayers, and Practical Aids (Holy Heroes, 2018), he shares how daily Rosaries transform families, even the “partial Rosaries, hurried Rosaries, bored Rosaries, in-the-car Rosaries, distracted Rosaries, or any Rosary.” Even in the messiness of family life, it is worth praying together. The Rosary has the power to strengthen us against sin, transform your life, transform your death, and transform the world, and it all begins with us taking the time to pray the Rosary and develop the habit in our children of praying the Rosary. This small book contains a great deal of valuable information. Each set of mysteries (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious) is introduced by an excerpt from St. Pope John Paul II’s apostolic letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae. Each individual mystery includes a lovely full-color image of the event, a set of ten Scripture verses so that you can pray a Scriptural Rosary of reciting one verse before each Hail Mary, and a set of ten simple reflections. The book concludes with the Litany of Loreto and the Salve Regina (Hail, Holy Queen). A short description of how to pray the Rosary with the accompanying prayers would have been helpful to include. If you need a lesson, please search online. There are many articles / instruction videos available. Overall, The Rosary of Saint John Paul II is a beautiful aid to assist in praying the Rosary and making it a priority in your family’s life.

This book is very well done and I highly recommend it to aid with meditations on the mysteries. One note - my copy is missing one of the ten reflections for the Crowning with Thorns Mystery. (Page 74-75) It only had nine reflections instead of ten. Not sure if newer editions have addressed this.

5 star book. 1 star for there not being a great kindle release. Will up my rating to 5 stars when it’s released

This book really helps concentration and mediation during the rosary. I would definitely recommend it if you are struggling to pray the rosary well!

Very nice. Very helpful. Allows one to pray and meditate more thoughtfully.

Can't find anything wrong with this faithful, inspirational resource.

Fabulous way to approach all of the mysteries
