J.K. Lasser's Your Income Tax 2025: For Preparing Your 2024 Tax Return

Good source for tax information. I buy this book every year.

For those who choose to do their own taxes, this is the best guide on the market. Well organized and written in layman's language. Every jargon term thrown at you on 1099's or W-2's is in the index of this guide. Well worth the money spent.

I am about to leave Amazon but wanted to give my thoughts on this book before leaving. If you are searching for help with your taxes, the authors put in this book (as well as the 2026 edition) everything you need. No stones left unturned here. Definitely deserving of a 5 star rating.

It's big and detailed. But so is the Internal Revenue Code. Good resource for tax planning, so you don't get surprised when you file that 2025 return. I recommend it if you have any big changes in your tax situation, like a change in family, sale of a home, starting retirement, etc.

We have been using this book for years. It is fabulous; easy to look things up, thorough (considering the complexity of the tax code) and well worth the price.

I finally got tired of paying a fortune to have my taxes done, sometimes more than my refund if any, so I started reading Lasser's books several years ago and rely on the information in them to do my taxes. I am self-employed which is a real headache to figure out tax-wise but this book gets me through it. I have never had a return bounced back for errors so it must be passing the IRS reviews. It's well written in layman's terms so easily understandable and will direct you to exactly what IRS forms need to be completed with the return.
