One of the Best Products I've Ever Used
Let me tell you about AquaCoat. This stuff will ALWAYS be in my shop. I've got the clear and I've got the white. I started using the clear on a pine electric guitar body. I used a plastic squeegee to apply the clear AquaCoat to the wood. it worked great but it left lines. I contacted AquaCoat to see if it able to be wet sanded. They didn't know. So I tried it. I thought what the heck. If it didn't work, I'd just start again. But, let me tell you, the wet sanding worked perfectly! I saw a guy on Youtube applying AquaCoat with a paper towel. So I tried that too. It actually worked better than using a squeegee. AquaCoat is water based and there are no fumes. I sat in my recliner at home and used the paper towel to push the AquaCoat into the grain. Using the paper towels allowed me to push the product into the grain and it left a very fine coat. It would dry it less than 30 minutes. I put about four coats on in just an hour or two. Then I wet sanded and had a perfect base to then add primer and paint. A quart of this thing will do several guitar bodies. The white AquaCoat actually has more particulates in it and will fill your grain faster. It will also help you see where you sand. If you try AquaCoat, you'll be a fan too! It is easy to apply, dries quickly and sands easily. It seals the wood quickly. The clear dries completely clear. This is great stuff!

Has Changed the Quality of My Finishes for the Better...Excellent Product
This stuff is FANTASTIC. My finishes are smoother now with this product than ever. When I put a glossy product over this, it shines and makes it much easier to get a mirror-like finish. It is easy to apply (I use an old metal credit card, works great!) and cleans up very well. Two coats are required, and sometimes aggressive sanding is also required...but not that often. The only drawback is that this product does not fill deep crevices well...use something else for that. However, if you are just trying to get a flat surface from virtually any texture, and if you want to see the surface clearly, then this product is perfect.

There is a learning curve on how to use.
It does fill in the grain lines but itโs not as easy as they make it seem. There must be a learning curve because this is the first time I have used a product as this. Iโm still learning but it does make the wood very smooth.

Works a bit better then the original
Seems to lay up better than the original. I thought it took to many coats of the original, this one seems to have more solids to it.
