AeroGarden Harvest Indoor Garden Hydroponic System with LED Grow Light

We bought this a couple of years ago and kept pushing the set up off, but it still works so well! It’s super easy to set up and it doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. You can adjust the height of the UV light which is super helpful with growing herbs. It makes no noise, and is fairly light ( until you add in water and even then it’s still pretty light) and we love seeing how the herbs are growing!! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

I have been using AeroGardens for more than 5 years, and this is a solid, nice model. Six pods is a good number to have on the deck, and I have used mine for a wide variety of things. I have grown herbs from AeroGarden pods, started my own herbs, vegetables, and flowers from seeds in DIY pods, and even propagated plant cuttings using empty pod casings. What I like: • Great for growing fresh herbs indoors • Six pods is a useful size without feeling like too much • Plants grow surprisingly fast • Fun for the whole family to watch • Fresh herbs make a big difference in cooking, especially through winter • Works with regular AeroGarden pods and DIY seed-starting pods • I have also used empty pod casings for plant cuttings • The indicator buttons make it easy to know when it needs water or feeding • The liquid fertilizer that comes with the pods seems to work very well • Comes apart enough to make cleaning easier Things to be aware of: • It can get messy between harvests • Cleaning takes a little effort, especially around the small nooks and crannies • I use an old toothbrush or Q-tip to clean tighter areas • Transplanting from the pods takes care and patience • Sometimes the pod housing has to be carefully cut away if roots are too developed • Plants need to be watched closely when transitioning from water to soil or another growing medium • There is a small learning curve at first • Watching videos on your exact unit or model can really help Overall: I love AeroGardens and now have three of them. Sometimes I have all three going with different types of plants. Once you get used to how they work, they are easy to maintain and a great way to grow fresh herbs, start seeds, or enjoy plants indoors year-round.

I've seen ads for these things for years and thought they had to be the biggest white elephant known to man - some vaguely more sophisticated cousin of the Chia Pet. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong! This thing is great. It does everything it says and more, is easy to use, and will give me fresh greens all winter. I'm looking forward to having bright fresh greens while blizzards rage outside - and this gives more than enough for one person - I have trouble keeping up with a few things. It's given me more beautiful dill than I can use, by a mile (the photo is less than half the dill that I finally had to hack back because it was crowding other things). Best part is that this is almost zero work. Top off the water every now and then (up to every day or two as the plants get bigger) and add two capfuls of plant food every two weeks when the light goes on. Could. Not. Be. Easier. I learned a few things from my first round, so here are some helps and hints: - I started with only four items, planning on planting the other two after 2-3 weeks so my harvests would be staggered. Mistake. This stuff grows so fast that the greenery from my first round blocked the light from getting to the later plantings. I spent a few weeks trying to pull back the higher stuff to create a path for the light to the newer stuff but finally gave up. Learned for next time, though. - Ditto with not putting things that take a few weeks to sprout (the plant cone has est sprout time written on the top) next to things that sprout in days or the later items may struggle to get light. Next time I'll arrange plants so that things with similar sprout times are somewhat together. - This one's no joke. Plant things that you will use a lot. Things like basil, parsley and chives can go on almost everything, but uses for something like dill are more limited. Next round I will favor things that are versatile and have wide use, because this grows A LOT of everything. - And final comment on balance, next time I will plant maybe four salad greens and two herbs. You use the greens in more volume, so they will balance out with the herbs if you plant more. So 4-2 or maybe 3-3 - The light is really, really bright. Pick a place where it's easy to walk to from the kitchen with a bowl and scissors, but not in your face where it could get irritating. If you cycle it on during the day, it won't be so intrusive. This thing throws zero heat, so you can block the light easily if needed with stacked items or even a paper bag over top. - The bigger your plants get, the more they suck up the water. At first I only had to top off the water once a week or so. Now I'm adding about a pop bottle of water every few days. I worry about what happens when travel resumes because I can see it running out quickly when I'm not here. There is a model of AeroGarden with a vacation mode that adjust lights so the plants grow less and need less water while you're away, and if I get a second AG, it will have the vacation mode. That's it! This thing really works and is a lot of fun. For a single-person household, it almost works too good because there's a lot of greens to eat! I will solve that by using better balance and targeted selection of plants for the next round.

I received one Aerogarden Harvest as a gift from my in-laws for Christmas. It came with the heirloom salad greens kit. We had sprouts less than 1 week after starting, and it provided salad greens for nearly 4 months before the plants matured and stopped producing more leaves. This provided 2-3 large salads per week for two adults. Some weeks we had 3-5 small side salads for two adults, per week. The lights on the base tell you when it needs more water and when to add more food. I have a reputation as a black thumb and it made me really happy to have such great success with growing plants. In 2022 I think everyone should be doing something to produce some of their own food, due to the supply chain crisis and crazy inflation rates that just keep going up. It's added a lot to my peace of mind knowing if nothing else I can grow my own salads. I realize it will take a while for the savings of my grocery bill to offset the initial cost of the aerogarden, but it's really empowering to feel that I can provide even a little of my own food right now. I have enjoyed the Aerogarden so much that I ordered a second unit which I have been using for growing herbs. I got the herb kit from Aerogarden and had very mixed results with this. The mint got an aphid infestation after a few weeks, when the mint plant was very large. This surprised me because all the articles about aphids that i read suggest adding mint to your garden because aphids are "supposed" to dislike mint. The dill and basil grew INSANELY well. I've harvested and dried dill and basil three times in the past 2 months. I filled 5/6 trays in my Cosori dehydrator with each batch. The thyme has stayed very small and the parsley also didn't grow very well. So, I think that the success of the Aerogarden is a bit situational and depends on the type of plant you are trying to grow. Salads are easy and very successful. Herbs.... your mileage may vary. Also, the size of the plants can sometimes be a hinderance to the growth of different plants in the same unit, or easily harvesting the leaves. I had a much easier time harvesting when the entire planter had only the same type of plant growing in it. For example, the basil plants got so large that they completely shaded the thyme and parsley because these grew much slower at the start of the garden. The basil had so many leaves that I had a little difficulty accessing the plants in the center of the planter. So I don't think i will ever try to grow large plants such as tomatoes or peppers in the aerogarden, simply for the convenience of being able to easily access any other plants in the unit. i am actually considering buying a THIRD aerogarden so I can have two units both growing a large variety of salad greens so that we have enough greens for two adults to have a large salad every single night.

When I want to try something new, I tend to dive right in. I wanted to try everything at once (not just herbs), but my space is quite limited. Thus, I purchased four of the Harvest units and several sets of seed kits. One month in and I am loving them so much I had to write a review. Before I get into what I planted, here's a few things to consider. The grow lights are on for 15 hour increments. You can adjust the time they turn on by pressing and holding the light indicator at the time you want it to turn on each day. You can also turn them on or off manually by tapping the indicator light. The lights snap to five different heights. In my picture, the first two are at the lowest level, third at the middle level and the last I raised to the highest for the picture, but lowered it back down to the middle height. One last thing about the grow lights. My eyes are quite sensitive to bright lights, be it sun light, headlights or phone screens, but the grow lights on these don't bother my eyes dispite being very bright. As for the indicator light for lights, it is always on and quite bright. I have these set up in my bedroom of all places, so to solve that issue, I've covered the indicator lights with a strip of red Tail Light Tape. The watering cycle turns on every 25 minutes, 24/7 and runs for 5 minutes. I already sleep with ear plugs, so not a problem for me. I have noticed the dripping gets louder if you let the water get low, so be sure to keep it topped off as they recommend. Now for what I planted (left to right in the picture). I have the herbs that come with it in the first unit. I did have a dud thyme which I swapped out after 20 days. (It grew fuzz instead.) The new one showed leaves in 3 days. Woohoo! It is still small, I still have the Grow Dome on it. From the Q&A section, I see you can contact Aerogarden for a replacement, but as I received a set of herb pods with each Harvest I bought, I didn't need to that. To allow the slow growers to get there share of light, I've already pruned/harvested dill four times, basil two time and Thai basil once. Speaking of Thai basil, I never tried this herb before, but found a delightful idea online for three cup chicken which I made last night. My roommate even told me I have to make that again for her. Not a problem as I will have a constant supply of that herb soon enough. The regular basil has turned into little appetizers with mozzarella balls and tomatoes. Can't wait to make these with home grown tomatoes as it is still store-bought in the picture. My second unit is filled with six Salad Greens Mix pods. Already harvested five bowls of salad for myself, and I've stopped ordering lettuce from the store. I harvest by picking off the largest leaves. My goal is to keep it below the lights at the lowest setting, but hard to keep up with these fast growing leaves. Looks like I'll be sharing it with my neighbors before long. They already took some of the dill off my hands. The third and fourth units have tomato and bell pepper plants. I used two of the Red Heirloom Cherry Tomato pods. They are the larger, faster growing tomato plants. I already trimmed some of the branches that were reaching too far out. I can see a few flower buds starting to form, so I have my Be the Bee Pollinator prepped with batteries and ready to go once they open. I used the Grow Anything Pods using a few seeds from a yellow bell pepper and an overripe grape tomato. Both sprouted nicely. The grape tomato seedlings turned yellow for a bit, but finally started to grow nicely. As for the bell pepper, I will need to wait and see if I can keep a plant at a manageable size in a Harvest unit. If you managed to read though my mini novel, you get one last word of caution. The fertilizer is on the pricy side. I accidentally bought one 3oz bottle for almost $20 on Amazon. Looks like the price has dropped now, but I found it much cheaper to purchase directly from the aerogarden website, caveat being you can manage meet the minimum amount for free shipping. They frequently have sales and you can checkout using Amazon Pay. At the speed I go through it with four units, I thought it better to purchase the 1 liter bottle size. Happy growing!!

I gave the AeroGarden to my son and daughter-in-law as a gift and they have used it extensively. They have harvested a great variety of items including basil, rosemary, lettuce, and cilantro. They have loved the product and I would strongly recommend it as a gift or for yourself, particularly with regard to parasitic problems with store lettuce recently. It’s very versatile, doesn’t make a great deal of noise, can be programmed and seems to last for quite a while

Purchased the Harvest model with the gourmet pods in October. It was easy to set up and start the pods. After a few days the herbs sprouted and are now 3 to 6 inches tall. One pod never sprouted and I called the AeroGarden support number. The support message said they no longer provided support over the phone, but I should try to use the email form. I did that and 8 days later a replacement pod was received. I started it today. Since the purchase I have emptied the water as directed and replaced it with fresh water and plant food. No problems encountered. I reset the light timer which was also easy to do. Keep in mind that the light is on for 15 hours. (Sort of nice to see the lighted plants now that Upstate NY gets dark around 5pm.) One thing that puzzled me was the Amazon pricing says the list price is $165 and the Amazon sale price was $72. When you go to the actual AeroGarden website the Harvest model is on sale for ten dollars below their list price of $89.95. Not sure why the large difference in list pricing. Regardless of the pricing difference, I am very satisfied with the Harvest model. The company's response to the pod that didn't sprout was great. I'm glad AeroGarden resolved the problem I experienced and I will be making additional purchases from them in the future.

It set up in less than 5 minutes and is now growing, I hope. Too early to say anything bout growing but the set up was easy. I used distilled water so we shall see. 19 JAN 2020, 2 tomato plants have been in now for a week and have sprouted and are now thru the pod top. Started them 12 JAN. Exciting and at 74 not much excites me anymore!!! 25 JAN, 1 day short of 2 weeks. Added 2 caps of liquid fertilizer as directed and am keeping the lights on 15-16 hours daily. Tomatoes are about 2 1/2 inches tall and starting to spread out. LOL Should have "maters" by Monday. LOL Will advise again next week. 2 FEB: Making progress as the plants are growing well, the main stems are about 1/4 inch thick now and I am pruning according to directions. No maters yet tho !!!!!15 FEB: Tomatoes are growing well, all the lettuce plants are up and growing as well as the herbs, basil, mint, chamomile and parsley. All the pods have germinated except for the two that I hand started myself. LOL 23 FEB: Now it has produced a lot of lettuce, pick some one day and a couple days later it is filled up again. Still no tomatoes but there are many budding lil yellow flowers which will eventually be tomatoes. Parsley, dill, tyme are all still growing but at a much slower rate than the others. The mint and basil are productive now and all is going along much better than I expected. All in all I am very satisfied with the product and it produces as advertised. I now have 3 of them working. I would caution folks to not plant too many at the same time, specifically tomatoes as they grow quickly and take up a lot of space which can bother the neighboring plants. Maybe just one tomatoe plant per machine, and something smaller in the adjacent spaces. Good luck and enjoy your experience, it is a lot of fun. The Quick Bottom Line: Yes, I’d definitely buy it again—mostly because it grows herbs, but also because it saves me from stubbing my toes at 2 AM while looking for a snack. The Pros: • Navigation: The LED grow light is bright enough to light up the whole kitchen for a midnight snack run to the fridge. • Compact: It has a small footprint; I put mine on the kitchen counter and I warned my neighbours to ignore the bright light in my kitchen that I was becoming a vegetable mama. • Set-up: Super easy to get started—basically "plug and play." The Cons: • Brightness: Be warned, the light is bright. • Pump Noise: You can hear a tiny trickle of water sometimes to me it sounds like a mini waterfall.

Great product and fun activity. It works as intended and I had no problems while using it.

Grows a nice herb garden. Easy to use.

This is a cute little device and for awhile it was fun to grow things in my kitchen over the winter. However, if you want to grow anything more than maybe herds or flowers it’s kind of useless. If you say grow a variety of lettuce, in a month you may have enough for a salad. And then you have to start again. I tried several different types of seeds and the only one I really felt to be useful was the basil. The tea set makes no sense as they all grow at different rates so you never really have the right ingredients for fresh tea. The tomatoes were cute but it took quite awhile to get about 6 cherry tomatoes. If you really want to grow food in your home maybe a bigger model would make more sense and then plant things according to how long it will take them to produce something edible. Would also be useful for starting your own plants for your garden if you bought the grow your own kit.

I loved this so much, I bought a few different ones, but all AeroGarden. Waiting for 2 to arrive from amazon.ca, one I ordered elsewhere as it was on sale and picked that one up. But these are amazing, harvested romaine lettuce already, my tomatoes are finally starting to have little green balls where the flowers where. I watch them grow each day. Everyone who visits me keep stating how they are amazed how fast things grow in this. I had bought this originally because the store bought Romaine lettuce kept being recalled for contamination, so I decided to grow my own. I am hooked on these Aerogarden. Keep checking for sales and that is why I am waiting for 2 to arrive as they were 47 % off they are 9 pods. I cannot wait to start planting more stuff. I also planted some of the herbs that come with the machines and they are also growing nicely. My boyfriend wants to build me a shelf unit to put all of these units on that I am getting, he loves the taste of those fresh Romaine lettuce, he is also hooked, we plan to start some in 1 machine, then about 3 weeks later start some in another, so we never run out as it took 3 weeks before being able to harvest the Romaine. I will plant more tomatoes and some of the other herbs in the new ones I will be getting.
