GE Plug in Color Changing Night Light with Dusk to Dawn Sensor

I've tried a lot of different night lights because I don't like turning on a bright light in the middle of the night. These have become my favorite. They're a bit brighter than most, and you can cycle through several colors—I keep mine on the soft blue, which provides just the right amount of light without disturbing sleep. There's no dimmer, but I've never felt I needed one. I've had some of these for nearly three years, and they haven't dimmed over time. They also have a dusk-to-dawn sensor, so don't be surprised if they don't light up when you first plug them in under bright room lighting. Overall, a reliable, well-made product that I now use in several rooms.

This is a pretty great night light, I like that you can change the colors to whatever color you want, it has a nice glow to it and my kids really appreciate it because they are afraid of the dark. I like it also because it auto detects whether you have a light on or not so once it's dark it automatically turns itself on.

I ordered the GE Color Changing LED Night Light based on all the good reviews. When it arrived, one of the prongs was bent and it would not fit into the outlet unless I forcefully bent it. I didn’t want to do that in case it broke. Whomever packaged the night light did so in a plastic envelope. That’s why the prongs bent. Not a good idea! So I requested a replacement and was told to toss the damaged light, which I did. But first, I tried bending the prongs to see if I could fix it but as expected, it broke. When the replacement arrived, it would not work even though the prongs were fine. It simply wouldn’t turn on. Maybe I got a bad batch? I don’t know but I ended up tossing it (again!) and took the loss. I didn’t want to go through the trouble of complaining (again) because I didn’t want Amazon to think I was scamming. I order a lot and don’t return too often but I’d rather save my complaints for more expensively priced items. 2 night lights ordered. 2 non working night lights received. Bummer! It looks cool and I wish I could get a working one but I’ll have to shop elsewhere. UPDATE 6/9: So when visiting his home, I walked into my dad’s garage about 2-3 days after I’d tossed the broken light into the trash bin and there was the GE night light, plugged into the wall. I thought it odd he’d have the exact same one but he explained he pulled it from the outdoor bin on his way out after tossing my trash. He said he shook it and could hear something rattling around but when he plugged it in, it worked after pushing the button to cycle through colors. I guess dads know how to make stuff work. I don’t know what happened but it’s fine now therefore I’m changing my review to 5 stars. It’s really cool and I love the colors. I’ll have to order another because I want one for myself.

I really like the color options. Very nice variety of brightnesses too. Makes an excellent dim night light and also can be used on the brighter colors to light your way through the house at night if you don't want to turn the overheads on. Especially excellent in bathrooms in the middle of the night. Can also be used as ambient lighting when just chilling out. The only thing I would change is offer a way to dim or brighten each color. Some colors are just brighter than others and they may not be the color you prefer. But I would still buy more, they're great.

I bought these because I wanted to have more light in my home at night for when I get up to grab stuff in the middle of the night if I ever need to grab water or whatever, and these are perfect. I have them all around my house, and I just love that you can change the colors, and I love the variety of the colors as well and it goes well with all of the other neon lights I have. I would definitely recommend them, because it is super convenient that they just turn on by itself whenever it’s dark definitely the best nightlight I’ve had in a long time! I’ve also had them for about six months and they all still work amazing. The only complaint I have about it is I thought that the colors would blend better into each color, but it kind of just will fade very quickly into one color and then fade quickly into the next and pause on each color which is not my favorite feature because you can’t adjust that as you can see in the video but otherwise great color options and it’s easy to change the color and they work amazing for their purpose!

Love it super cute , easy to use . Brightness can go super brighter to dark. It's worth it. Good quality.

I've had this plugged in for just about a week now, wanted to watch it do it's thing a few days before giving my opinion. When plugged in for the first time it went straight to rotating color mode, which worked for me because I was going to try that setting out first anyway. This is for my hallway so I can see any movement with some back lighting. I like the rotating setting because (in my head anyway) it looks like you are just keeping a soft light and if laying awake can be relaxed by the slow but steady flow of the colors. The only color I don't love for the hallway lights intended purpose is the red, it is a bit too dark, but all the other colors are perfect. I replaced an old one that was crazy bright and had to go in the hallway or it felt like you had a light on in the bedroom. It started going bad after 5 years (not bad) and I thought this would be a good replacement. And so far I really like it. My hallway is really dark, and dark flooring doesn't help, causing the sensor to always think it's dark unless the hallway light is on, so it runs most of the day and night. After a week of being pretty much continuously running it is not even slightly warm to the touch, a very good thing. The lights are bright enough for my needs/wants (except the red) but soft enough that it would work great in a kids room and not be so bright it kept them up or woke them up if they rolled over and the light caught their eye. Would also make for some nice ambiance in an adults room, or living room, but I'd probably only plug it in when I wanted that (for rotating colors), not leave it on all the time, but that's just me. I am really happy with this light overall and would purchase again or recommend to friends and family.

These GE nightlights are excellent little units, we love these in our house! The look stylish enough on the wall to not be an eyesore during the day and the muted white appearance with the frosted plastic light area are innocuous enough that you will barely notice them when they are not illuminated. Installation is flexible as they can be mounted in either orientation. The multi-function-button, which serves to control the unit entirely, is easy to access and is responsive. Starting with a colour-shift mode where the unit will cycle through each colour in order, each successive click will take you through the full range of solid colours, followed by white light, dim white light and finally OFF. The lights do not have any integrated battery or memory, so if there is a power out you will need to reset all of your colours, but this is a very quick task. The lights throw a solid amount of light, enough to easily navigate my house in the middle of the night without the need of turning on any other light sources. It feels really cool having the whole house lit up at night and being able to have a different colour every week is fun. These are geat for adults and kids alike, there are no small parts that a child could swallow. The light throws well but is soft and not intrusive and overall they look good day or night. I highly recommend these GE nightlights to anyone looking to add a little splash of colour to their hallways after the lights go out!
