CESS RCA Plug Solder Gold Audio Video Connectors (10 Pack)

I needed some custom length RCA cables to connect my CD player to my newly from-scratch built single ended, ultra-linear EL34 tube amplifier. Not that this matters. What matters, however, is the quality of these jacks, and it is great. The jacks are heavy, the threads grip the outer shell well, and the blades that connect to the female counter part are one piece. I find that an advantage over others. They sit tight on the audio inputs but not as tight as the jacks they replace. After reading some negative comments, I feared that the plastic that holds the center pin would melt quickly but it does not at all. I am using a middle of the road Weller soldering station with a point-tip, cranked up to full heat. The solder flows nicely on the metal (and into the cup), and since the metal is thin enough, you don't need to apply a lot of heat. Compare that to the heavy, gold plated speaker jacks that first need filing and sanding where you want to solder and then act like an enormous heat sink, so much so, that your iron sticks to them. But that does not mean these RCA jacks are flimsy at all. I melted toggle switches and cheapo 3.5mm audio jacks, because there is nothing that distributes the heat away from the plastic. But here, I assure you, you can solder with confidence, just be reasonably swift. I soldered four of them and held the tip of the iron to the leads and pins until the solder was everywhere, and all was good. I understand why many want more strain relief, but first, there is some (when you squeeze the metal strips around the outer insulation of your wire, and second, for 95% of all applications these cables will sit stationary for years.

I used these to repair speaker jacks on my PC Audio system. They work great. P.S. I repair cables and wiring harnesses that are used for space exploration, aeronautics, defense systems etc.. every day so I know a bit about such things.

They are pretty good and work well. One plug had a poorly coated outer shell. Looks like they missed a spot with the gold. I needed eight, so that one is still on the shelf.

Good quality in my opinion, but rookies like myself that are new to this stuff needed to know that each RCA terminal requires a negative and positive lead. -if using speaker wire, make sure you have a negative and positive cable that runs to each adapter (red adapter needs 2 cables -/+ : Black adapter needs 2 cables -/+ ) Negative connecting to the small hole in the middle and positive to the flat part that holds the cable in place. -solder each connector accordingly and these are great for the money. Just don’t make a rookie mistake like myself and run a single wire through and these will work great for anything you need them for.

After reading some of the other reviews I was worried about getting these because of how difficult they were saying it was to solder them, but these were the best/cheaper ones I could find. I am by no expert in soldering and I have a cheap pointed end solderer and I did not find it difficult to solder them on. In fact, I was able to get them soldered on and working the first time. They look nice and seem durable. I used them to connect to my sub-woofer that was across the room. Been using them about a month and no issues so far.

Easy installation. Working perfectly. Replaced a pair of original plugs on a Technics SL-1200 MKII. Got the signal transfer back to how it should be. They look nice, too.

I just made an RCA cable set with these and for the price, they're decent. They're half the price of the Neutrik Rean NYS373 that I usually use and it's obvious why once you get them apart. I definitely destroyed a couple before I got the hang of it. Pros: Looks good. Gold plating. Narrow enough to fit electronics with tight spacing on the RCA jacks. Cost less than one dollar each. Cons: Thin metal. No strain relief. Pin and sleeve connector wobbly. No insulator between solder points for pin an shield. When soldering, take these steps to prepare the plug: 1) bend the bar for the sleeve connection straight 2) solder where the bar meets the plug (very important) 3) tin the solder points for tip and sleeve (don't heat for too long or you'll melt the plastic surrounding the pin) 4) open the clamp wide enough to accept the cable jacketing. (don't clamp directly to the conductors) Then when prepping the cable end, it's a good idea to have longer leads, tin them, then cut them down to length. You have to make sure the sleeve connection isn't shorting to the pin. If you're making your own RCA cables from scratch, especially if it's something you'll be plugging and unplugging regularly, you're far better of with something like Neutrik Rean NYS373 which has compression fit with strain relief. Rean is still a very inexpensive connector, and twice the quality for twice the price of the cheapies in this ten pack.

Easy to grip good quality I found them easy to work with little room to work with can get little tight in back of receiver, example,, sherwood 965 r, can get a bit tight but for me nice tight connection is important, overall great value for the money I will be purchasing more,
