Bought this to replace an old asbestos type of fireproof mat. Worked perfect as a shield between a pipe and wood that needed to be soldered. Pipe was right up against the wood and I snuck the shield between them. No burning and very little heat transfer to the wood. Great product. Fire tested!

I have tried to burn these. But I feel like they are a good deal. I picked up 2 packs on sale, for a total of 4 squares. I put them under a lithium battery charging station. I feel like I should still add a silicone mat too. But for now I feel like the space is safer than it was. -Now thats assuming the rating on these pads is accurate as it does exceed the temp that lithium fires burn. For my next trick I will plan to insulate a 3d printer with these or similar. In case you are wondering, they are reasonably thick, enough to feel like they are functional. Hardly paper thin junk. They are also soft to the touch and dont leave any bits behind on contact. The only trouble I had was getting a bit of double sided tape to stick so that they would not move around when I was working.

I couldn’t be happier with my decision to purchase this Matace 2 Pack 12x14 Inch Fireproof Welding Blanket. My primarily use was for making oil lamp wicks with pint and quart jars. The 5mm thickness is just right for small square wicks and for rolling them into slightly larger round wicks. The fabric does an excellent job of absorbing and wicking the lamp oil which is ideal for lamps. Since the pack included two blankets, I put the second one to good use in the kitchen. I fashioned it into a pot holder which has turned out to be superior to any store bought ones I have ever used. I can now easily remove a 500°F cast iron pan from the oven and I don’t even feel the heat on my hand. It is an impressive level of protection! Overall I believe the Matace 2 Pack 12x14 Inch Fireproof Welding Blanket offers excellent value for the price. It’s versatile, durable, and performs beyond expectations and highly recommend!

Upon the recommendation of a plumber friend, I bought these to protect a tub, while soldering the spigot and shower head, to protect the tub from heat damage. They definitely did that. It can be very difficult to hold them in place, when working on vertical surfaces. Tape does not stick to them very well at all. Some other offering have eyelets in the corners, and I may consider that next time.

Epoxy glass covered. Cools by 70%. This car runs very cool, and even better now. The amount they sell on this order, is just a bit small for any avg size project. You must glass 360° to build for heat and racing!!! We glassed it under the center engine inline bonnet. Order enough to do the job!!! Worth Every Cent!

I actually bought this to lay on the floor of my greenhouse for many reasons: 1. It's heated in the winter and his forbid there is a fire, I hope this will help to contain. 2. The wool-like material is perfect for holding water so I can support the humidity level during winter. Just simply spray water and let the temp + air do its job. 3. It helps to block cold ground air from seeping into the greenhouse (we have a layer of gravel as the floor and this on top). I've used for 2 years and it's just now getting to the point of needing replaced. 👍

I cut these into disk that fits into 2 oz containers with lids and add alcohol and burn them to boil water in a canteen cook set.

Brilliant purchase!! Ideal for laying in front of log burner when adding logs etc and when cleaning ashes… Dropped numerous pieces of hot ash on it and it’s not affected it

These work surprisingly well for the money. Used for a couple of brazing jobs so far and no major signs of wear. They'll tolerate direct heat from a MAPP gas torch for a short while. You could cut these in half and they'd still be as large as the regular cheapie soldering mats that you get from B&Q, so at this price they're practically disposable!

Protects the table and grass well. Should have bought a larger size.
