Easy setup and good sound
Good value - pairs easily with my TCL Roku tv. Nice to have the subwoofer. Huge upgrade over tv-only speakers. Itโs just a hair too tall as it would be better if it slid under the tcl tv and the remote sensor in the tv. Functionality - Nice to only need 1 remote. I donโt like the touch buttons I wish they were real buttons. Bluetooth connects easily. Recommend for a value/budget setup/uograde, especially if you have a tcl tv.

Best of the MANY I've tried!!
I use this TCL S55H Sound Bar with an older Samsung Smart TV. Therefore, I cannot use the TCL App which supposedly offers more complex features for tuning the sound bar. That said, I find the remote-control settings suffice for my needs. The TCL has sleek dimensions allowing it to fit perfectly on the table with the TV. I only use Voice, Movie, and Sports modes, and all are excellent quality of sound. Voices are clear and sharp, and movies have the right amount of Base for me. This is about the 8th lower-priced sound bar I have tried, and on many I had to resort to subtitles as the vocals were so muddy and muffled. Some worked okay on some channels but failed dismally on Netflix and/or Apple TV+. This sound bar has consistency throughout my viewing choices. Set up through HDMI ARC was simplicity itself. It pairs automatically with the subwoofer. I have not used for streaming Music or for games, so cannot comment on those. If I had to fault it, I would prefer a viewable volume indicator, but I can live without it. Overall, this was best value for money sound bar that I have tried in this price range. If you want all the bells and whistles, and surround sound, be prepared to spend much more, but for an entry-level sound bar, this is perfect!! A huge upgrade from my TV speakers!

Great sound - Great price - Easy to install
We have a TCL tv that because of its placement in our entertainment console has a very thin, tinny sound. The TCL soundbar is really good. It is easy to install, the subwoofer (wireless connection) pairs beautifully and the sound is progrmable although we have stayed with the factory defaults. We have no complaints. Hoping it lasts as it makes 100% difference in the tv watching.

Overall good speaker. Improvement to the TV speakers. The volume will go up to ridiculously loud. The control setting lights are on top, doesn't make sense because you can't see them, but you can use the on screen sound settings. The AI sonic boom feature doesn't appear to make any difference to the sound quality and the separate base is adequate. Easy to set up. For the price, looks nice, sounds ok...

Plenty loud, nice bass, easy operation
I had an older optical soundbar that would go to sleep and require a button press to wake it up. This one is controlled by the HDMI/ARC connection - so I no longer have that issue. Connection was simple. The TV immediately asked if a soundbar had been connected, and I answered yes, and that was it. Now volume controls the soundbar. The sound quality is very good, and at a minimal volume level of 15 - it's pretty loud! The only complaint that I have is that I wish the volume up and down was a little more granular, or softer stepping up and down. But that appears to be a functionality of my TV and not so much this device. Overall, it's priced right and sounds good. I have been using it for a few months now, and I have not experienced any issues with the subwoofer or otherwise.

Impressed
Good little purchase set up was easy I didnโt take long at all. Smaller than i expected but Iโm ok with it. Itโs a good value for the price. Itโs not gonna blow your socks off, but itโs gonna give you a decent sound better than the speaker than the TV.. the remote control is OK you could hit surround sound voice stand out or nighttime. Itโs actually a good buy after doing some research this one always came within the top 10 and was much lower than others were a good quality sound

Incredible sound quality, deep bass, and effortless setup!
I am genuinely blown away by the performance of the TCL S55H! For a 2.1 setup, this sound bar and wireless subwoofer punch way above their weight class. The Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support create a truly immersive, room-filling soundstage that completely transforms movie nights and gaming. Dialogue comes through crystal clear, and the wireless subwoofer delivers a deep, rich bass that you can actually feel without muddying the mids and highs. The Auto Room Calibration feature is an absolute game-changerโit tailors the audio profile perfectly to your living space with zero hassle. Plus, having both app control and a dedicated remote makes adjustments seamless. If you want a massive audio upgrade for your smart TV without dealing with a complicated, expensive multi-speaker home theater system, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

Good for an entry-level offering. But audiophiles need not apply.
Big upgrade over the TV speakers. But also a few noticeable trade-offs to hit the low price point. Basically, if you are looking for "cheap and good enough" you are in the right place. If you want an amazing home theater experience that feels like going to the movie theater, well, temper your expectations. It may punch above its price point, but that price point is very low and so some significant compromises are to be expected. That said, overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality here. It has more clarity and range than you expect it to have. The highs are very clean and well-defined, the mid-range isn't quite as sharp but still fairly solid. Should be fine for spoken dialogue, even without a dedicated center channel speaker. The bass is a big notch weaker and muddier, but that is really to be expected at this price. The system gets surprisingly loud without distortion. For many people, this will seem like a tremendous bargain with a big increase in sound quality for not all that much money. On the other hand, if you are sensitive to sound quality issues, it will not take you very long to realize why this thing is so inexpensive relative to other sound bars. For example, you really aren't supposed to be able to tell where the sub-woofer is located inside the room if it is set up correctly, because the low-range frequencies the sub is supposed to be exclusively handling aren't directional, meaning the human ear can't place where they are coming from. Yet, depending on placement, you can often very easily tell where this sub-woofer is located inside the room. It took a bunch of fiddling around with where it should live in my space for it to blend in with the output from the main speakers relatively cleanly. And even after trying it in a half-dozen spots, it still isn't 100% dialed in. It took me a bit to figure this out, but here is what I think is going on. Here the "sub-woofer" isn't actually being restricted to the lowest frequencies that can't be located in space by the human ear. Instead, it is being asked to cover some of what would normally be stereo bass notes handled by the main speakers on a more expensive system. Unlike the really deep stuff a sub-woofer is supposed to handle exclusively, those higher frequencies are still easy for the human ear to locate in space. This suggests that the sound engineers who tuned this thing originally were so disappointed by the bass performance of the main sound bar that they felt the whole thing would sound better if more of the bottom end bass was played mono through a single, relatively tiny, ported sub-woofer. Not exactly a vote of confidence. If you don't know much about audio, just understand that is the kind of thing you'd only ever do to hit a price point, it is far from the ideal way to handle this issue. The result is a muddy bass that still hits when you turn it up, but without any of the crispness and detail you'd find in a higher-end system. For practical purposes, that means two things: (1) I wouldn't seriously consider the even cheaper version without the sub-woofer given how much of the load the sub is being asked to carry here, and (2) you will likely have to play around with where the little ported sub lives in your room a bit so you don't have this weird effect where half of the music is coming from one part of the room and the other half from a different location. I tried calibrating the room with the "auto AI" room calibration software. I think it made a negligible difference in the audio quality from my listening position. On the other hand, physically moving the sub-woofer around does make a noticeable difference. I connected it using eARC to my TV and that went fine. If you don't have eARC on your TV there are optical and aux ports on the back as well. You can bluetooth into it with your phone for music as well. I had no particular issues initially pairing my phone although I've had to re-pair it after a power outage. I would ignore the Dolby Atmos/DTS X marketing. This is a 2.1 system, it doesn't have any surround sound speakers or height speakers, so it can't give you that immersive home theater sound of much more expensive systems. They run the Dolby Atmos signal through some kind of on-board processor that down mixes it to the actual speakers, but that is all just a bunch of nonsense. If you want surround sound, realize there is no free lunch, and you need to pony up a lot more $$. The bar is physically larger than I expected it to be, that is probably one of the reasons why it sounds as good as it does. But make sure you look carefully at the dimensions before you order this, it did not fit easily underneath my TV, it was wider than the two feet the tv sits on. Controls on the top of the unit are straightforward. No power light on the front but only the top is annoying. It is hard to tell if the unit is on from across the room, which is a total fail/miss. Why they thought it should have a light on top instead of to the front is a bit mind-boggling. Nor are there any lights on the front to show volume changes. That is a usability miss as well. It wasn't hard to set up, the sub-woofer paired immediately without issue to the bar etc. and I just hooked it up and plugged it in. Because I am using the eARC connection all the volume controls for the TV haven't changed, and I can now control the sound bar the same ways I once controlled the internal speakers of the TV. It comes with a remote control that I guess you might need occasionally. It is very cheap and low-end feeling, but it is also probably going to end up in a drawer and never get touched again after you finish setting everything up. It is fine for what it is and what it cost. I am keeping it.
