I was disappointed as I bought it to show me the public footpath around me area as I recently moved in and I didn't expect the map to be so large. The OS map you can download on your phone is ok, but I expected to be able to zoom in further. However it does the job but with the advances in technology I expected a bit better. Team up with google maps and get more details on public footpath

Like all ordnance survey maps it is well set out and shows all salient points as you would expect.

I am a big fan of OS maps when it comes to finding my way around and the Active maps are the best of the bunch. I have a number of old OS maps that are tatty and falling apart at the folds due to over-use or getting soggy, however I haven't had that problem with the Active range.They cost a little more but are, in my opinion, worth the extra. I even use a China graph pencil to mark the map with a route or POI and then just wipe it clean once I am done.I have an expensive GPS system that I carry for ease of use but I always make sure that I also have an OS map with me as they don't need batteries and are always reliable (just get a good compass and make sure you know how to use it) - they are an invaluable tool to aid off road navigation.

All OS maps are great, especially in the bigger Explorer range.

The library of new maps is continuing to grow reasonably well with a building up of stocks of Explorer and Landranger maps.They will always be my first choice. The service provided is first class and there have been no problems with orders. These maps come in handy on more occasions than you would imagine, even when not out in the wilds, as they are a very good source of reference.

Excellent map. Great to have when walking and exploring that area.
