Absolutely amazing. A real life saver!
I previously had Bose Sleepbuds 2 which failed and had to be returned for replacement. As I now cannot sleep without white noise to mask external sounds (not block, these are not ANC, but instead they mask sounds by playing white noise to stop your brain from being able focus on other noises) I had to find something to use whilst I waited for my replacement sleepbuds. I took the gamble with these at an offer price of £99 (the Bose sleepbuds are nearly 3x the price). I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by the quality or features, but couldn’t have been more wrong. The A20s are pretty much better than the Bose in almost every single way. The comfort is great. They are ever so slightly bigger than the Bose, but only by a tiny amount and still more than comfortable for side sleeping. Battery life is solid. I get 6-7 hours sleep and use in sleep mode only. In the morning I have at least 50% battery, so even when the battery starts to degrade, I’m still going to be able to get a full night sleep with them. Using in Bluetooth mode might not offer the same amount of battery life, but they offer an auto switch over mode so you can start in Bluetooth mode and then switch to sleep mode after a set amount of time or when they sense you’ve fallen to sleep. The Bluetooth mode is a standout feature compared to the Bose. You can listen to music, podcasts or anything you’d use normal earbuds for, with the added benefit of then having a full sleepbud feature for sleep time. The sound for music and media is not as rounded as a specific earbud, but that’s not what these are to be used for. It’s an added feature that adds versatility and value as to how you can use them. The app is fantastic and has sleep tracking features and reports, alarms and also a whole suite of noise masking sounds. The customisable sounds are also a massive selling point over the Bose sleepbuds. Bose give you their sounds and nothing can be tailored, so you’d better be happy with what you get with the Bose. The A20s allow you to layer up to three sounds, with different volume levels to create a sound that is perfectly customised to your own needs and preferences. I’ve used a couple of different rain sounds layered over a brown noise track that gives a complicated enough sound so my brain can’t focus son external sounds. I find that 40% volume is perfect for falling asleep to, anything else is much too loud, so reviews saying these aren’t loud enough I find very confusing as can’t see how you’d want them very loud. I eventually got the replacement sleepbuds back from Bose, but they have remained sealed in the box as I now can’t go back to them having found these to be a much more superior product in every way. If you’ve had sleepbuds that have failed and, like me, you can’t live without them, the A20s are a solid replacement at a much better price point. Anker have done an amazing job with these and have beaten the market leader at their own game.

Completely transformed my sleep routine
Wow **Soundcore Sleep A20** I must say, it’s completely transformed my sleep routine. As someone who has struggled with falling asleep due to an overactive mind, these sleep headphones have been a game-changer. **Comfort**: First off, the design is incredibly comfortable. The Sleep A20 is lightweight, and the memory foam ear tips provide a snug but soft fit. Unlike regular headphones, the Sleep A20 is specifically built to be worn for extended periods, so you can easily sleep in any position without discomfort. It’s also really discreet, so there’s no bulkiness around your ears or head, making it perfect for side sleepers. **Sound Quality**: The sound quality is impressive for something designed specifically for sleep. It features soothing white noise and relaxing soundscapes, which help drown out background noise and promote a calming atmosphere. The bass is subtle, which is ideal since you don’t want anything too overwhelming while trying to fall asleep. The sound isn’t too loud or too soft – it’s just right for creating a peaceful environment to drift off. **Battery Life**: Another standout feature is the impressive battery life. A full charge lasts me through multiple nights of use, and it only takes about 1-2 hours to fully charge. I never have to worry about running out of power mid-sleep. Plus, the Sleep A20 has a smart auto-off feature that conserves battery once you’ve fallen asleep. **Additional Features**: It also comes with an app that lets you customize your sound experience, whether you prefer nature sounds, calming music, or even white noise. You can control volume, choose your preferred sound, and set timers – it’s all very intuitive and easy to use. **Overall**: If you struggle with getting a good night's sleep, I highly recommend the **Soundcore Sleep A20**. The combination of comfort, quality sound, and long-lasting battery makes it a must-have for anyone looking to improve their sleep quality. It’s perfect for people who need a little extra help blocking out distractions and drifting off into a restful sleep.

Life changing, but still not without small annoyances
I have been using these now for several months, nearly every night. The good news is- they are life changing if you have a partner who snores, need noise on at night, etc. I have very very small ears/eardrums and there is still a fit for me in the pack. The earbuds are very lightweight, I turn A LOT in my sleep and I hardly ever wake up without both earphones still in my ears. I mostly use the Bluetooth function to watch YouTube and have the automatic sleep sensor off because I have insomnia and it would think I was asleep while i was still awake. The sound quality is pretty decent for such tiny earphones, and the charging case holds enough charge that I can get away with only needing to plug it in once every 3-5 days depending on how much I’ve used the earbuds. The connection is strong, but that’s not suprising as when you’re in bed your phone probably isn’t far away Though I didn’t use the sleep/white noise features much, it’s nice to have access to a library of sounds and be able to make new ones. The cons are: After a lot of nights in a row wearing the earphones I sometimes need to take a night off due to a little sensitivity in the ear on the side I sleep on most. You will get more earwax when you wear these. They get FILTHY. Like, really gross, you need to make sure you clean them like once a week. often I have needed to use a needle to really make sure the very fine mesh gets clean. When they get dirty, they become extremely quiet because the holes for the sound to come out of are very tiny. I don’t use the touch controls really- the app does a good job at controlling the modes. The sleep tracking is a nice feature but I’m not sure it’s 100% accurate, though it can give a nice idea of how long you were in bed for. Overall I like the a20 sleepphones, they work a lot better than anything else available on the market. I wish they designed the mesh/speaker a little better because the fact it can get ear wax on and dampen the sound in the earphones is super annoying. Update: the metal grate continued to be an issue, regularly cleaning these with IPA is super important or they just stop working. Mine have finally died after about one year of nightly use. That’s a bit of a shame- I would expect earphone that cost £100 at purchase to last longer

nice at first but not durable at all
It was a fairly good experience at the start but the silicone bits soon started to fall off or get stuck in my ears, which is really annoying. A year and a half later, one earbud hard cover has fallen off and is unusable and the other won't charge above 20%.I only use them to listen to podcasts and fall asleep, so as intended, nothing extreme. Also sleep mode plays horribly loops of sounds, so I never used it. For £100 earbuds, this is shockingly bad. theu were basically good for the bin less than a year after purchase but I couldn't bring myself to throw them away until now.

Good while they lasted (which was just a few months).
I'm a side sleeper and these ear buds allow me to do that in a way that other ear buds don't. They're fit easily in the ear so you can lie on your side and they don't get in the way or hurt. They let you pre-load white noise directly onto them, such as "rain" or "ocean" so you can use them to fall asleep to these sounds and you don't even have to access your phone to do this (once you've set them up). Of course, you can also connect to your phone to listen to content like normal. Unfortunately, the battery on one of mine has degraded badly. The case and the right ear bud can reach 100% charge and will last hours, but the left ear bud is only able to reach 50% charge and so doesn't last long. After a while I'm almost lying there beginning to stress how much longer it has before it stops, which is not conducive to sleep, so I've had to stop using mine. This started happening after around 9 months of light usage. In summary, they're good but going by my experience that batteries don't last long. I wouldn't buy again for this and wouldn't consider them good value.

filled with optimism left sore and very frustrated.
I have been suffering with sleep issues for many years now. I have tried many earplugs with some being better than others. I am a light(ish) sleeper, but the slightest sounds disturb any sleep that I get - others snoring, wind blowing, neighbour’s car doors banging - you name it; it disturbs me. I often fall to sleep listening to a podcast, audiobook or watching some videos with my Sony XM3’s in, but as we all know they fall out, disturb you and then get lost in the bed. Therefore, finding these Anker buds filled me with hope and ticked many boxes – none more than the potential for blocking out sound and being comfortable when I fall to sleep with them in and then being able to leave them in. The added bonus of having some “ambient” background noises to alleviate this also sound appealing. With all of the above in mind, and reading about them on a Telegraph review, I immediately hit the “buy now” button. The fact that these were Anker also made me feel better as they have some brilliant products. And then… What a fall from grace. These on offer (limited time offer) were £99 and oh wow are these things badly overpriced. In my experience they did not block out sound to a decent level – I could still hear general nightly house noises; quilt rustling when my other half was getting into bed, doors shutting and the wind outside. The idea, some of the execution (low profile design, sleep sounds, good battery life and the vast array of attachments) was superb but the fact that they don’t block sound to an appropriate or satisfactory level is totally unacceptable. THIS was the main reason I wanted them. I desperately wanted to block out sound – much more than these do. I actually feel a little cheated – I know I could return them but that just feels like a hassle so they will be consigned to the car or draw as a desperate spare. Maybe I am using them incorrectly, but I followed everything – or so I thought – but £99, no chance. To add insult to injury my right ear keeps swelling whenever I used any of the wingtips/cover but my other ear doesn’t suffer. Obviously this is my fault but I could only ever use one bud! To price these the same as things like Galaxy Buds is rather poor. Sorry Anker, I love your products but these are not great for the purpose intended.

Great For Peaceful Sleep
These Soundcore Sleep A20 by Anker Sleep Earbuds are at the time of this review (June 2026) last year’s model, and I got them for less than £80. The newer model has active noise cancelling, but it does cost a lot more. Having used passive earplugs successfully for some time I discovered that a nice wash of pink noise somewhere in the room whilst sleeping actually made my sleep so much better. But my other half doesn’t always want to hear it, and so I thought I’d see if there was a more personal solution. These little marvels are quite something, performing much better than the really cheap option I tried (at around £20). Those began to go faulty within a week of use, with poor bluetooth connection and one earbud simply refusing to charge. No such troubles with the Soundcore A20s. They are incredibly small. So much so that the soft rubber comfort sleeve around the plastic shell has a little tag on it to ensure you can get the buds out of your ear. That design feature alone suggests that a lot of thought has gone into these buds. There are touch sensitive pads on each earbud, and they can be programmed individually to start and stop the music, or to increase and lower volume. Such things are controlled by the very nicely designed companion app, which will pretty much be essential to set up and monitor your buds. Having said that, once the buds were in my ears I found it impossible to get them to respond to my taps. So, I disabled that function. The app contains all kinds of sounds you can download into the earbuds’ own memory, including what they advertise as “AI Brainwave audio”. I didn’t detect any AI or brainwaves. What differentiates the “AI Brainwave Audio” sounds from the other sounds in the app is that all the other sounds are in mono. The “AI Brainwave Audio” sounds are in stereo. One neat feature was the “Personalized White Noise”. Again, something in the naming isn’t quite right, because whilst there are a few white noise sounds there most of them are anything but - being sounds of nature or machinery. The neat part is that you can mix any three of those sounds together. Sadly, although they mix nicely they are all still in mono. The app library also has stories, sounds for meditation, and snore and tinnitus masking sounds. I didn’t use any of those sounds. But I did find a Spotify playlist that gave me ten hours of stereo pink noise, which worked really well. The only real flaw in these A20 sleep earbuds is that they aren’t very loud. I have a number of other earbuds, and the A20s are by far the quietest. You might think that wouldn’t matter, that you would be able to just send more volume to them, but whilst that does seem intuitive you may run into the same problem I did - the dreaded EU regulations on volume limitation. I don’t run into this problem with any of my other earbuds, since they are quite loud enough when the volume on my phone is set below 80%. But the A20s are so quiet that I do have to slide the volume over that limit. This means that half way through the night the volume is automatically reset to 80%. I have woken up wondering where my nice soothing pink noise has gone, only to hear it churning away almost subliminally quietly. If you have young ears (mine are nearly 70) you might not have the same problem for sleep use. But even young ears might have problems using these in any daytime setting. Overall, the whole package, with the puck shaped charging case and the magnetic charging ports inside, is well thought out. The charging case has no screen, so you will need the app. But connection starts as soon as you open the case and remove the earbuds, and connection is quick and painless. I have no reservations about recommending these Soundcore Sleep A20 by Anker Sleep Earbuds to anyone who thinks they might help with sleep. They certainly helped me, and although they were three or four times the cost of the cheaper alternatives I think they offer incredible value for money if you value deep and peaceful sleep. [Just a final few words on fitting the earbuds and getting a good sound. The earbuds come pre-fitted with their medium tips, which may suit you right away. I have big ear canals, and I need the largest tips, but even so I need to make sure they are seated correctly before a good sound is achieved. The instructions provided suggest twisting the earbuds once they are in place, but this is only half the story, and may or may not help seal them in place, depending on your own personal situation. I find it helps to dampen the outer part of the silicon tip before inserting, and push them in quite deep, then pull them out slightly. The silicon tips are very flexible and will grip the ear canal slightly, making them expand to fill the space. It’s essential to get a good seal. If you don’t then the earbuds will sound thin and tinny. You will know the seal is working when your own voice sounds boomy and resonant inside your head. It might take a bit of practice, but it soon becomes second nature and it makes the whole experience so much better. Once in place the earbuds will stay that way all through the night.]

Overall, way better than the Bose Sleepbuds II that these replaced! I love them!
I had a pair of Bose Sleepbuds (MKII) for 2 years and loved them for getting a good night sleep, and not getting disturbed by noise. When Bose discontinued them, and my first pair of Sleepbuds died (battery issues), I was gutted as I assumed I wouldn't be able to find a decent replacement. Then I discovered these, and I absolutely love them. They are WAY better than the Bose Sleepbuds in my opinion for an number of reasons: 1. They will work as a normal blue tooth pair of earbuds, and they actually sound great! I often use them for workouts and the likes. 2. The battery life is loads better than the Bose sleep buds for overnight use in sleep mode. 3. The sleep sounds are much more customisable and you can layer different sounds on top of each other to create a custom sleep sound. The flexibility is fantastic. 4. They cost less than half the price of what the Bose Sleepbuds were, but are a lot more feature rich. 5. The carry/charging case isn't unnecessarily huge like the Bose Sleepbuds. It's also nice and light. In addition, the battery life of the case is also much better than the Bose and I can generally get 5-6 nights out of a single case charge before having to recharge the case. (That's with wearing the buds all night long each night) 6. The way the buds go back into the charger case is a better design than the Bose, and I've never had the buds fail to make proper contact with the case (a issue I had regularly with the Bose). 7. The passive noise cancellation (without masking) is much better than the Bose and even with no masking, they do a great job of blocking out the noise. 8. They are more comfortable to wear at night than the Bose. I did get use to the Bose, but these, I forget are even in my ears, and I'm a side sleeper! The ONLY one negative I can report is the "wing" retention system just isn't quite as good as the Bose sleep buds, and sometimes they feel a little loose despite having the largest fitments installed. However I've never had one fall out overnight, it's more they sometimes unseat themselves and I need to reposition them for a better seal against my ear canal. However this is likely a product of my ear shape and the product design, and with all the other positives, I can definitely live with this and have found a position that minimises this problem. Apart from that one minor point, these are absolutely perfect. I love them and take them everywhere with me when I travel. If you're a post-Bose Sleepbud user like myself, I can highly recommend these as a replacement, or more to the point, an upgrade. Full marks to Anker for their engineering on these. They have done a stellar job!

Would recommend and buy again
I have used these headphones every day since I got them. They are comfortable enough to sleep in, which is a priority for me because my husbands snoring keeps me awake. They are easy to use, I love the case. Would replace immediately if I lost them

Si cancelan ruidos, no habrá mucha ventilación.

Perfect for Night Shift Workers and Side Sleepers
I bought the Soundcore Sleep A20 earbuds almost on a whim after asking ChatGPT to recommend something suitable for my situation. I’m a paramedic who works predominantly night shifts, so sleeping during the day can be difficult, and I specifically wanted something comfortable enough to use while listening to brown noise. I took a chance on these and honestly cannot begin to explain how impressed I am. They sit deep enough within my ears that, even as a side sleeper, I can lie directly on them without the usual pressure or discomfort you get from normal earbuds. This alone has made a huge difference to my sleep. The controls are incredibly easy to use. I can adjust the volume with a few taps, and the Soundcore app gives you even more control. It can also monitor and record your sleep, with the data integrating with the health apps on my iPhone, which is a fantastic extra feature. For me, though, the biggest benefit is simply being able to put on brown noise, block out the world and sleep properly after working through the night. As a bonus, every now and then I also wear them on my longer walks and listen to podcasts such as Joe Rogan, so they have ended up being useful outside of sleeping as well. I genuinely cannot praise these earbuds enough. Electronic devices obviously don’t last forever, and if these eventually fail after plenty of use, I honestly won’t be upset — I’ll simply come back and buy another pair. Absolutely one of the best purchases I’ve made for improving my sleep.
