Most VFDs of this capacity are double the size. This one is nice and compact, and so far, seems to do the job nicely. The only nits are that the cooling fan has quite a loud whine when running, and the installation/user manual is a) short on details and explanation and b) needs a magnifying glass to read it. For someone already familiar with VFDs, or that doesn't mind a bit of a puzzle, it seems to be a god product and a good price.

So far just using this to simulate 3 phase AC for engineering. It works well without a load. This review is not about running a motor. I’m not sure I would use for that. It’s small and can’t imagine it would last long running a real motor. For me $50 is an amazing value to test and just for engineering projects. So I bought another. The instructions not bad could use a bit better wording. I have not tried Modbus control yet. But plan to soon.

It's like others have said. Instructions are worthless. Special features? Who knows. Power on a 3 phase motor and easily adjust the speed? Absolutely. It's cheap. It's light. It works.

Used this on an old lathe. Once wired it worked great. Have a good understand of electrics. Mines not the greatest, but watched a couple videos on a similar VFD. Allows great adjustability of an old motor that was a constant 1725 rpm motor in its day. Great unit!

YOU CAN WIRE IT CORRECTLY, AND YOU CAN MAKE THE MOTOR WORK. THAT IS ALL.... TURN ON/OFF, AND ADJUST SPEED FROM THE FACE OF THE UNIT. HOWEVER, DO NOT EXPECT TO DO ANY PROGRAMING! IMPOSSIBLE TO FIGURE OUT PROGRAMMING ON YOUR OWN, AND NO DIRECTIONS FOR PROGRAMING IN MANUAL OR ONLINE.
