Can I use it as a kids coats hanging and side shelves for shoes

No, we tried to adapt it by fitting a pole on the one side but the cupboard is not deep enough for coat hangers, also my ironing board is too tall to stand up in there.

Can you have shelves on both sides? Are there enough, or does it need to be without shelves on one side?

Shelves are on left side only. The other side is for brooms, mops etc.

Does it fit a henry hoover?

Only if you remove the hose and then the door doesn’t shut properly. See photos on my review.

Please can someone tell me the measurements for the cleaning cupboard compartments?

The upper long shelf is approx 70cm long x 27cm high and 30cm deep. The 3 smaller shelves are approx 34cm wide x 46cm high and 27cm deep.
