Pretty nice tent. Yamaha XT fits under awning if you want.
I am not usually taken in by a bunch of features and normally prefer plain/proven designs. However I stumbled on this tent and was curious enough to give it a try at $99.Except for a larger bike and carried across the back seat or possible strapped on top of a pannier I don't see carrying on a motorcycle due to packed size and weight. Will be good for car camping or a rally tent carried on a big bike as mentioned above. The sleeping area is basically a 1 person with a little gear. The ventilation seems good, but I have not yet slept in it. I did set up in yard and was able to back a Yamaha XT225 under cover and also sit beside the bike in a backpacking chair. A larger chair had my head touching fabric. Without the bike, there is plenty of space to get out of sun and/or wind. Two aluminum poles are included for the awning. The setup and take down is very quick and easy. The gear loft and vestibule area are very nice. The only instructions are in Japanese and the tent is made in China even though the advertisement makes a lot about it being a Japanese company.Overall I'm happy with the tent for the purposes that I bought it for.

a tent that matched many categories that i look for, but not a perfect one
Background: I do alot of camping with my significant other, and i also do solo camping when I'm off to an event of some sort. I live in the Southern California Sunny weather so lots of good warm days, some blistering hot days, and rare rainy days from drizzling to I-can-feel-the-rain-running-underneath-my-tent rainstorms. Been through those kinds of weathers but not snow. not yet. Going to Michigan for that in the near future. I mainly do car camping, sometimes backpacking, and I lived in foxholes in the past, no tents. When I'm looking for a tent, I look for the obvious: durability, longevity, weight, and quality. Other things like warranties, cost, rigidness, etc. is also taken into consideration.**I just received the tent today so I haven't get to try it out yet but with experience on similar systems from other tents, I hope to believe it would withstand the force of nature to a certain extent that will achieve what I look for in a tent (obviously not expecting it to survive thru tornadoes or hurricanes hahaha).Other Tents I have to compare with: I own the Snugpak Scorpion 3p, Teton Vista 2p instant tent, North Face Wawona 6p, and the Snow Peak Alpha breeze 4p.Side note: I also tried other tents in the past like Coleman brand tents, Core equipment, Nemo, MSR, Eureka, REI, etc.NOW! Ladies and gentlemen, The DoD Moto Dome Tent! As you can see in the pictures, it comes in a nice simple bag with 2 stitched-in buckle straps to sinch and compress the tent down to as small as it can get, Similar to my Snugpak Scorpion 3 bag. This is one of the features I love. Just a simple bag with zipper from top end to bottom of the other end of the bag with straps. Inside and spread down on the floor, you can see the tent itself with another Buckle strap to help sinch down and makes it easier to pack back in (similar to the Teton vista 2p which also comes with a buckle strap), 2 awning poles which is similar in diameter to the tent poles itself (don't expect the thick awning poles because it isn't haha) , Y-shaped aluminum stakes (similar to other lightweight stakes like MSR), red and reflective tent ropes for awning, 1 mini center hub rainfly, and 2 manuals (one original and one in English).Setting up the tent is Super easy! With the Leg locking system (additionally need to extend the 2 front legs) coupled with the string-pulled central hub, the tent pops up super quick! Just like the Teton Vista 2p that I used during my time in Camp Pendleton, it surprised a few fellow marines I was with. We just love how simple and quick it was while watching others struggle put up their Coleman/Core instant tents. The material of the poles, unlike the Fiberglass that the Teton Vista 2p uses, they are aluminum here. One thing I like to mention is the 2 front legs that needs to be extended are a different type of red than the rest of the poles. Unlike the ionized color red, it's like a semi-matte flat red. After popping up the tent and taking a closer look at the rainfly, the seams are consistent and complete, and the material is thin and light, being 40D nylon it's as expected; And with its high waterproof rating of 3000mm, it should keep me dry during rainy days. Examples we can compare with, during an extreme rainstorm with high winds, the Snugpak Scorpion 3p with its 210t polyester 5000mm rated rainfly kept me dry and in one piece, or during normal rainy days, the 75D polyester taffeta rainflies with ratings between 1200mm - 1800mm from the North Face Wawona 6p or the Snow Peak Alpha Breeze, has also kept me dry.The mesh for the windows is breathable like your general screen doors, and the size of the grid will definitely be enough to keep them bugs outside. Something I'm looking for when camping in those summer hot days. Needing that extra air flow is very important for me because I tend to get steamy hot really quick. Other tents I own and tried during those summer days, comparing to the no-see-um mesh of the Snugpak Scorpion 3p or the micro mesh of the North Face Wawona 6p or Teton Vista 2p, those kinds of mesh have kept the heat in and limited the air from flowing thru. I do not recommend either the North face or Teton for summer. This is also the reason why I bought the Snow Peak Alpha breeze for me and my significant other to camp in the summer times because it has the similar mesh grid as this DoD Moto tent.Upon opening the windows and doors to reveal the inside of the tent for this part of the review, I want to bring up how awesome it is how each side of the front door comes with extra rainfly material with metal grommets, included with rope and awning poles, for you to set up an awning! A very nice bonus for a tent that already has a massive vestibule which you can comfortably sit 2 people in it or 1 person with a table or with alot of gear. beanbag for reference in the picture is 2ft x 2ft x 1.5ft in size. When front door is rolled up, the height to get into the vestibule is roughly 3.75 ft, but the height inside is almost 4 ft. Picture shown is because I'm pushing up the tent with the measuring tape. Regardless of the size, this is a Very Spacious vestibule for this tent. Teton Vista 2p lacks this, the Snugpak Scorpion 3p lacks this, even the Snow Peak Alpha breeze 4p lacks this. But anyone who has ever stepped foot in a North Face Wawona 6p knows that their Vestibule is massive. Takes the cake for Family tents. But back on track, This DoD Moto dome tent 2-person tent is the equivalent of the Wawona 6p tent in vestibule size. Just. Massive. Inside above in the Vestibule, they added a hook for you to add a light for the night. Very nice addition. Very good when it comes to details like this.Enough of that. The INNER TENT! information was lacking on this one. This tent was labeled as a 2-person tent. I know, for me, 2-person really means 1 person. The Teton Vista 2p tent has enough room for my ruck, other gear, and my Twin size air mattress of 9inches in height. The only downside of the Teton Vista was that the other end of the wall is really slanted, giving me no room to lay down without touching both ends of the tent. Even with a slimmer camping mat (using a Thermarest Trail Scout mat), I can touch both sides. This is no different in the DoD Moto dome tent, besides the overly slanted wall of the Teton vista, the DoD Moto dome tent isn't really all that different when it comes to laying down. My hair and my feet can touch both sides of the tent, and I'm 5ft 9inches. So, anyone who is 6ft or above, this is not recommended for you. The width is also not as wide as my Teton Vista 2p tent. I can only fit the twin size mattress, no room for gear. Being how big the vestibule is, this is good enough for me. when laying down looking up, you'll notice a zippered mesh loft for other stuff like your phone, ipads, or small items. There's also a hook for a light. The door is massive and given with a roof height of roughly 43 inches or 3.6ft of head space, I can sit on my air mat looking into the vestibule without the door obstructing me in any way. The window on the other side is also generous in size. the Mesh on both the door and window of the inner tent coupled with the mesh on the back window and front vestibule window of the rainfly allows awesome air flow to cool me off during the summer days. This I have mentioned previously in the review. With all said and done, I have yet to give an absolute result on durability against the force of nature but with the leg locking system coupled with the central hub, aluminum poles, identical to the Teton Vista 2p (again, Teton uses Fiberglass material for their poles), I can trust that it will stand up against windy days (adding that the tent is staked down properly). Being a lighter material but high rated rainproof, I believe the rainfly will keep us dry on rainy days. Quality, the seams were consistent and complete. Only thing that got my OCD kicking in was one of the Velcro didn't seem like it was properly stitched but then again, I never cared for those as much as anything else. The overall materials used feels well above average but not screaming Premium. With Quality this good, Longevity will not be an issue. The weight coming in 12.12lb stated on their website, includes the stakes, the ropes, and awning poles, for its intended design its good. My opinion, this tent is Not ideal for backpacking due to weight and packed size. I would do it if I have certain criteria to meet when I go camping with friends. But if you need to do the bare minimum for backpacking, this isn't the tent. My Teton Vista 2p tent comes in roughly 6lbs, I can take that backpacking because its light enough for me with the essentials that the tent can provide and pack down size is manageable. This DoD Moto Dome tent was intended to be on the road, with you while you ride or drive. For me, this is good for a little weekend getaway. Maybe a fishing trip with a buddy (he'll have his own tent hahaaa). Price. At $100 bucks. This is a STEAL!. highly recommend it to anyone looking for a small tent.

Great easy to set up tent for 1 person
This is my go to tent for quick set up! the outer shell and inner tent really help reduce wind that might be cold, as the inner tent zips completely up. I had no condensation issues with temps down into the 40's at night, and heavy heavy rain storms. Weighs a little too much to be anything but a tent I use on car camping trips though - although I did a canoe trip with it and the compact pack size worked good for that. The tent actually fits into its bag quite easily and that bag has compression straps so it isn't as large a package as you might think. I could not imagine two full grown adults fitting in this tent however.
