Tools necessary for winter use
If you get this for summer, it’s as easy as screwing it in the socket. the fan spins the same way of the socket’s grooves and keeps it in. The airflow is great and helps keep my apartment cooler. It’s silent and the plastic makes it easy to clean. Good size for a small apartment. And, of course, it’s cute. However, if you want it for winter, you have to install the socket it came with (means messing with the wires and circuit breaker and electricity). Without doing so and putting it in reverse could possibly cause the fan to unscrew but since it’s not winter I have not tried it. To do so requires tools. Now I was sold on the No Tools/No Wiring that they had on the pictures and only glimpsed over the written information that does state you’ll have to install the socket to run it in reverse. I’m very mechanically challenged when it comes to these things. It doesn’t help that the instructions cover the barest information (I like to ask why). There are extra screws with no instructions as to where they go. This may be a steal but if you don’t know an electrician or someone who has installed light sockets before or are adventurous (and able) to install on your own, it might not be worth it.I didn’t see much of a difference between fan speed levels except between one and six. Very gradual. The light is amazing and gives a lot of variability. Super bright to fairly muted. Works to cover most lighting needs. I’m at a loss as to where to leave the remote where it would be the most convenient however the remote itself is convenient.

Exactly what we needed!
This little fan light is exactly what we needed in two of our bathrooms at our house. Our showers had a hard time drying out and would quickly mildew, even though we squeegee the windows and doors after showers. The tile would stay wet all day long especially if the door was closed which we like to close just to keep the bathroom looking neat. I ordered a different version of this fan and this fan as well to compare. The other fan had a loud beep which was a deal breaker. It beeped each time you’d change a setting on the fan or the light. It was driving my dog crazy. There was no way to turn the beep off so this fan ended up being the winner. It works good and my husband thinks it works better than the other one anyway so there you go. It also has a 2 hour timer function for The fan which is very nice so it doesn’t run all day. I turned the fan on high after the shower and hit two hour timer and the shower dries out so much better! If this thing lasts, it will be the best deal going. Oh- it also comes with the little dome thing to convert your light fixture mount if you don’t have a can light there to screw it into. I had to buy one for the other fan (the one with the beep). It was only about three dollars at Home Depot which isn’t very much but still- you don’t have to buy that with this fan, it comes in the box. This little socket fan light is a game changer! I hope it lasts a long time! If it dies, I will say, we will buy another one just because of the functionality of it.

So far half good
One fan had done something wonky while we were gone. It was sitting at an angle not running when we came home. Finally got it semi straight and running but now it makes a rubbing sound. The lighting is great though. I bought two and the other is still working fine, so far, crossing fingers. Installing the optional piece at the socket was fairly simple and the esthetics are much better with it, but it's not necessary if you're not familiar with doing electrical wiring.

Pretty good fan.
Want breeze without the hassle of installing a Ceiling Fan? Then this light socket fan is perfect for you. It is perfect for recess lights and I also think it is good that it comes with an optional light socket piece just in case you do not have access to recess lights or any other light sockets and the light socket piece is very simple and easy to install. This fan puts out a decent amount of air for its size and all 6 speeds and light modes do their job well. The only con i see with it is it does not go as fast in reverse as it does in forward mode and that is a very minor con at that. The extender is perfect if you are putting it in a recess light or if you are putting it in a regular light socket and you just want it to hang down some.If you are putting it in a Medium/Large sized room make sure to get more than just one. I recommend buying these as pairs. Both the Remote Control and The App are very easy to understand and use. They are worth the money and you will get this at a very reasonable price.
