So fresh, and smells great!
I am very happy with this purchase. The bag is larger than I expected it to be. The cloves smell so good and are very fresh. The value for the price was exceptional. Will definitely purchase again as needed.

Easy to use and yummy
This is a great way to hasten wintertime yummy drinks. I've used it on mulled wine, cider and now tea. It smells great and tastes the same. Easy to use.

A bit pricey for basic spices but makes a great mulled wine!
Makes an excellent mulled wine! I used 2 packages worth for the mulled wine I made (about 3-4 bottles of wine worth). I would recommend putting the spices in a tea bag used for looseleaf tea. The little pieces of rosemary were a giant pain to skim from the mulled wine.

A different type....
....of "Bam".For most home cooks/bakers, star anise and whole cloves are a bit of an oblique spice.Since Christmas, I've been wanting to bake something sweet and spicy.I knew that something was going to have cloves in it.Having never ground whole cloves before, I did a search; I knew it would involve my blade type coffee/spice grinder but didn't want to damage the grinder. What I found was: "roast the cloves in a cast iron (I did them in a carbon steel ) pan for a couple of minutes and let them cool...."Into the spice grinder they went and I ended up with a beautiful dark rust/brown colored powder.I tasted just a teeny bit on my tongue. You know how when you drink something that's too hot it leaves the tip of your tongue sort of stunned?....and so, that's why this is getting the nickname of another type of "Bam!"It was so strong, but such a good clove-ee flavor, I knew I had the makings of my low carb spicy muffin recipe.I was pretty cautious in how much went into a 12 muffin recipe; like somewhere around 1/8 of a teaspoon. There was also fresh and powdered ginger in there. So YUM.The cloves are in there but sort of lurking in the background; I can taste them but am glad I was cautious in how much I used; the flavor is so perfectly rounded out; sweet, spicy and I can just hear Misses Shops too much, "what else is in there....?"I'm thinking the next time I make carnitas, just, again, the teeniest pinch of cloves is going in there; (now I want to make carnitas......).The star anise.Because it has the word "anise" in it, I like many, that don't typically use it, put it in the category of actual anise. I avoid real anise and black licorice because of potential health conflicts. So doing a search on "STAR Anise" I found (and you will too, if you do a search) that there are actually many health benefits associated with it, and NO RELATION to "regular" anise.I haven't cooked with it yet, but for fun, I put a piece in my mouth; tasted like black licorice.A little wonky, awkward, to put in your mouth, I'll admit, but I liked the flavor. The cinnamon sticks; My thumbs are not a willing participant in breaking these in order to grind them. For this review, I broke one and found it to be not something I want to do, so, honestly, these will likely go unused. For the sake of this review, I took that one that I broke and put it in my mortar and pestle to grind it.Again, for me, more effort than I want to expend, so MIGHT use the spice grinder in the future, but not today. That which I did grind had a wonderful cinnamon fragrance, but not so wonderful as to get me to not use a good pre-ground product.Overall, I perceive these to be wonderful quality products and will enjoy using them in my cooking and baking adventures; glad I ordered.I hope this review has enabled you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall 5 star rating.

Awesome selection
I was so happy to find this bundle as I needed these 3 spices specifically. They are decent quality ~ the cloves and star anise have nice strong scents and flavors, the cinnamon sticks are very nice but I haven't had any spectacular cinnamon for the past few years 🤷🏼♀️These sticks have a nice subtlety sweet scent and flavor so I am happy with all of them.

Good quality but expensive
I think these are good quality cloves - when I opened the bag, the scent was very strong. I use whole cloves to make tea, and often toss a couple into curries (be sure to fetch them out before serving!). I had purchased a bag years and years ago - I had transferred the cloves to a glass jar, and I'm finally nearing the end of the jar! Perfect timing to try the Soeos whole cloves.I was curious about the price though, as I felt that the cost was pretty high (at time of order, $18.99 CAD for 4 oz). Sure enough, I checked around and I can get about the same amount for half the price!Perhaps there is something more special about these Soeos whole cloves that I'm unaware of. I only simply use them for flavouring.

Excellent Product! Fresh smell! Scent proof & resealable bag!
Excellent whole cloves for pickling! I've made my own pickled beets for years now after discovering most pickled beets sold at my grocery store are made in Poland. I would rather use fresh produce and locally grown beets to make my own! The cloves come whole and packed in a thick, vacuum-packed, resealable spice bag. These can also be ground into a fine powder, using my small coffee bean grinder. It's awesome making your own pumpkin spice or ginger spice, which is much cheaper and fresher to make myself, over buying a small spice jar premixed.Whole Cloves are fairly expensive. I have been sourcing my cloves from a whole sale bin store where I can purchase a small amount at a time. This 4 oz package from Soeos is a perfect amount to have on hand! I really like the scent proof, resealable bag as it keeps the cloves fresh. This can also be stored neatly away.Anyone who has purchase cloves understands how expensive they are. The price on this 4 oz (113.4 grams) is very in range of what I would pay bulk. However, I find these cloves fresher since they are sealed and are not sitting around in a large bin for months on end! They are also less oily so grind a little finer. Anyways, very good product. Really enjoying our home-made pumpkin spice lattes!

Fresh clove flavour
The freshness of the product gives the most aromatic smell. I normally grind cloves to use in assorted dishes, with the most prevalent being baking. This is a component of the spice mixture for my spice cakes. Being fresh you don't have to use the same quantity of raw spices to grind to achieve the desired results. I also use a dash in my smoothies. I think these are a bit pricey, but the flavour does make it worthwhile. For the amount I use these are affordable. Would I buy this again? Yes.

Very strong scent and taste
The scent was very strong when I opened the bag, so was the taste. I don't know if it is because of the product itself or because its package was opened only recently, but it is still quite impressive. The strength in taste unfortunately makes it quite bitter, to the degree that it feels like it is burning your tongue. But hopefully this means that you can get more out of less.Indicated net weight is 4oz (114gr). The package was a good airtight one. You can seal it back and it would still be airtight. The label had a "best before" space, but it was empty. Instead, "01/28/2026" was printed in ink on the package, so I assume its expiration period is around 2 years. The price of $19 CAD at the time of writing seemed high to me.

whole cloves
While I found these to be more expensive then what I can get at my local grocer, they served well in a pinch. It’s a large bag and was perfect for all the recipes we had to make this weekend for our family and friends gathering. Cloves are good in so many recipes and this bag is big enough it should last at least 6 months.
