Follow the directions, and the rest is a ride in the wonderous domain of sage oil.
Full disclosure, I am not a hair professional. My hair is dark brown and of the wavy type. I had my hair buzzed off and then bleached in 2015 , then dyed a few months afterwards. Haven't done anything else to it since then. But when my dark hair did grow back, to my dismay, the frizz I had since my dweeb years in high school had also made a triumphant return. And I hated it.But having grown up in the age of information, I understood what has been made clear to us as the consumers. That, in many cases, our selection for cheap solutions come at a costly price to our bodies. Through one of these many health revelations, as a young American consumer becoming health conscious, I concluded that maybe my frizz problem could be attributed to the ingredients used for cheaper alternatives.I've since then made many changes to my life, including my diet, which led me to update many of my hygiene products to more "natural" substitutes, packaged in convenient plastic solutions. All attainable within my budget, of course. So, it's not the heaven-sent correspondence to my daily struggles, but we work with what we got. And I don't got a lot.I decided I would explore deep in the amazon for options that would more or less leave my hair nice for as long as possible in between washes, which also meant that I was looking for quality shampoo with healthier ingredients that wouldn't damage my scalp or hair... at least, according to my very limited knowledge on the science of hair maintenance. And the good news is that I am content with this one. I first bought a bottle 5 months ago, and I still have a bit left over in the bottle for another 4 or 6 uses. With this shampoo I wash my hair twice a week, and even on the day I set up for a lather, my hair isn't a greasy monstrosity as it was prior to switching to Sage. My head would just start to get noticeably oily when I rearranged the strands from their set positions, but otherwise harmless and nice enough to go for a coffee in public. However, I have been exercising more rigorously in the warmer season of California's June days, so I do try and uphold the two-days-a-week system.I kept it easy and simple, following the painless directions printed on the label since day one. The strong minty scent from the oils are pleasant to me, likely due to my taste for minty scents and flavors like dark chocolate peppermint ice cream... I understand that not all are delighted with the keen fragrance of mint-like products, but perhaps you will find that creating a new custom with a pleasant outlook can maybe, possibly, teach your senses to tolerate certain, fierce, aromas. It's all up to the individual, but I digress.Maybe it's a placebo effect, but I do feel refreshed after a good lather with this stuff. I admit, I find deep satisfaction within the brief time I use to thoroughly massage my head after a long day; basking in the mixed scents of sage, rosemary, tree tea, and the rest of the oil assortment that were aptly blended into the silvery, white goo. This is some pretty good stuff.

Results took time
I tried this to deal with a moderate but persistent dandruff problem. Frankly it was a shot in the dark because I had gone through a few other shampoos without success but was encouraged by the reviews. My initial results were not dramatic but I kept with it, adopting a twice-a-week routine. It has taken many weeks but I have reached a good place. My dandruff isn't non-existent but it is not a problem, and the itching is gone altogether. Lately I have been alternating the Sage with the Hydrate and that seems to be a good long-term combination. I also use a scalp massage brush in the shower afterwards. It is nice not to have dandruff and even nicer not to have to worry about it.Followup After 18 MonthsStill a fan but I've altered my routine a bit and now use the Sage as primary and Hydrate only occasionally, but probably shampooing about 2.5 times a week on average, depending on activities, because I really like the way my hair is afterwards. Plus I like the sage scent so much I've even gone to sage scented soap.32 Month Follow-upI have just reordered and set up on subscription but I have also reduced my rating to 4 stars. I really like the product--it is my favorite--but it isn't a perfect solution to the dandruff issue, which I find requires a certain kind of rotation of products to be dealt with most effectively. So now my usual three-shampoo-a-week routine is Sage, then Solimo dandruff or T-Gel, then Sage.I think the trick is to keep your scalp guessing.

My holy grail hair product for dandruff
I needed a shampoo for my itchy, flakey, angry scalp. Head and shoulders was not cutting it any more, and the other products I tried (tar-based and otherwise) didn't help.I was so relieved to find this product. It works! I have to continue using it to get relief from the itching and flakes, but that was what I expected. I use two applications in the shower with rinsing in between, and I can go a day without showering before things get uncomfortable. In the shower after using this shampoo, I also use a fancy salon shampoo to give my hair more shine, volume, and bounce (and a slightly more pleasing smell — I don't mind the herbal cleanliness smell of this sage shampoo, I just prefer the salon smell). Lastly I use a conditioner to moisturize the ends. This routine has served me well for the past couple years, and I finally feel like I have nice hair for the first time in my life. So very grateful.

Smells great and works well!
Does exactly what I need it to. Cleans everything back to natural and leaves it so soft after conditioning.
