Don't be afraid! It's not that difficult!
Although I am a first time user of ceramic coating I can say I am impressed. I used this on a 2019 Honda Civic (red) and a 2016 BMW 5 series (dark blue). I had enough to do both cars with a little bit left over. As always the prep is very important. I washed, clayed then polished. Then, wiped down with a mix of distilled water and alcohol. Application took about an hour and a half per car. Do not let other reviews freak you out! It's not hard to do. After a little time you will see what is the right amount of time to leave it on before the wipe down. You might see a rainbow effect and or it's getting a little bit tacky. That's when it's time. The shine gets even a little better after a couple days. The best way I can describe the results is it looks like putting another coat of clear paint on it. Impressive shine and repels water, dirt and helps cleaning bugs off. If you do have some left over you can store it in the fridge. It lasted 6 weeks for me before I took it out and used it again. With what I had left over I did my hoods again. Wow! Just wow! Ultra shine! If you just have one car to do you may want to do a second coat for shine like you've never seen before.

DIY Ceramic - Easy To Apply
Don’t let anyone tell you it takes a professional to ceramic coat you vehicle. That’s not true. I have never applied ceramic coatings to a vehicle before nor was I trained how beyond watching YouTube videos but wanted to try it. Before applying this to my vehicle a neighbor and I split the cost of an order of this Cerakote product. We applied it to an old junky 11 year old dark gray work truck. We chose it because he didn’t care if we screwed it up. This truck has areas where the paint ranges from good condition to beyond hope condition. It has perfect paint and heavily oxidized paint as well as places that look ok but the clearcoat is etched by rainwater. The end result was amazing. The hood where the paint was pretty good looks showroom perfect now. Like a mirror. The oxidized paint areas was greatly improved and we found that this stuff fills in and corrects small clear coat scratches. But the fact that we applied this product ourselves with no prior experience and did a good job is the point. Just find a YouTube video. Follow the instructions. Done. Perhaps other ceramic coating are more difficult. I don’t know. But this one is easy and if you could screw it up I probably would have but didn’t. I’ve used Cerakote trim coating and also the headlight restorer kits before. All very easy to use. Very DIY friendly. Great results. This product is just as good. Highly recommend it.

First time user - easy application & pleased with results
I’m a first time user of any ceramic coating. After researching many brands & application methods on internet & utube, I was confused & a little concerned on attempting it. Decided on Cerakote based on mid price range & testimonial reports on ease of application. As most reports state, the preparation is critical to get a good final result. I used on a new Ford Maverick PU and did all prep steps 1). Handwashing with neutral PH soap to remove dealership spray wax & hand dry 2) I used Turtlewax brand Iron remover with a heavy rinse & soft towel hand dry. 3) clay bar with plenty of lube over all painted surfaces including wheels. Did a section at a time with micro towel removal of lube before going to next section 4). Suppose to buff paint but with a new vehicle I had no paint issues so this step was not necessary for me. 5) Handspray (50/50 mixture of alcohol & distilled water) & immediate wipe dry with microfiber towel to removal any lube residue from clay lube from step 5 Application of Cerakote product I sectioned vehicle into 12 sections (roof-engine hood/grill- 2 front fenders - 4 doors- 2 bed sides - tailgate & wheels. I used applicator provided with kit. Put 4 or 5 drops on applicator pad & wipe on painted surfaces with a cross hash pattern. Product goes on very easy. Add more product to pad when it feels like it is dragging (you can easily feel it) I applied to a section ( typically 2 minutes to apply) & set timer on my phone for 3 minutes. Then I applied product to next section & had time to get wiping & buffing microfiber towers before timer went off. I wiped with one towel & buffed with second towel in same pattern as applied when timer went off. Complete both sections before applying product to next two sections. Product does not dry on applicator pad between applications so I was able to use same pad for entire vehicle. Just be sure not to drop it or contaminate pad between sections. Product was easy so wipe off & buff. You can easily tell by slickness which section had product applied to. I’m very pleased with the application & results. I can’t testify to durability but initial results as good. If you’re a first time user don’t let all the talk worry you. Take time & followed instructions for product & you will be happy with results

Best ceramic coating for Pros and enthusiasts.
I have applied other ceramic coating brands like Adams, Gyeon, Chemical Guys, Turtle Wax, Chinese 9H generic, etc. From the spray versions to small bottle serums. Some are great, like Adams, but very difficult to apply correctly. Some others are easy to apply but just don't last. Maybe six months at max. Cerakote was the first high quality ceramic coating that is easy to apply and last. I've bought the first time when they launched the product, and it is still up on the VW Jetta that I applied. After that, I applied in a few more cars and all of them, the ceramic coating is still working correctly with the water beading effects and protection. Are there other great ceramic coatings out there? Of course! Gtechnic, Gyeon, Adams are great brands, and you don't go wrong with them. But what keeps me buying more and more Cerakote is the best price x performance in the market. For this price, you won't get anything better than Cerakote. Also, the easy to apply is probably unbeatable. So, if you are a professional or an enthusiast and want to have a great protection in your car. Get this one and you will not regret. PS: Applying ANY ceramic coating doesn't make your car paint shielded from scratches. It helps reduce the scratches by making the clear coating hydrophobic and giving a thin layer of ceramic coating. To keep this layer, you need to continue washing your car and applying some maintenance to the coating, like ceramic coating quick detailer, wax or sealants. It is the maintenance that will make your ceramic coating to last for years.

Note that this is my first experience using this type of product. I applied to a white 23 ram 1500, all external painted surfaces. I did this in the shade of my garage from the cooler morning and into warmer in 85 deg+ temperature with low humidity. I did the strip wash, clay bar, iron out, alcohol prep- no polishing. The application went well, uzing a little more than 1 1/2 bottles. White is probably one of the safer colors to not see any application issues, but I didn't noticed any. Watch a few u-tube videos on application techniques. It is not difficult just set a timer, or two. While I was not expecting to save a lot of the chemical, I was concerned during the process if I would have enough with the rate of use as I went. I do expect I would use this product again, but may try an application pad that absorbs less coating. This will probably require adding the coating to the pad more often but also mean a little less waste. Also, having an extra pad in case one is dropped on the floor would be nice. I have some other products that give good results on glass, but after seeing this on my paint I am interested to try this on my windows. It is hard to objectively see a before / after without pictures- but my perception is a noticeable shine and very slick touch. When I wash the truck I am pleased with the hydrophobic properties and ease of cleaning. I will not get as many opportunities to wash the truck over the winter in the pacific northwest, but it will be a good test. I believe it will pass with a high grade based on what I have seen so far. Overall, I expect to use this again and would recommend it to friends.

So far im not satisfied with this product. It’s basically an expensive wax. Don’t get me wrong, it keeps the shine very well when curing is done, but a good quality wax does the same. The dirt still stuck to my 4Runner and the beading did not last too long. I did applied two coats of the ceramic coating. I am impressed with the first batch that I ordered. I applied it on my freshly powder coated wheels and it was easy to clean. Same with the first batch I applied on my bmw but I haven’t driven it on the rain yet. It’s a garage queen that I only drive on weekends, not like my daily driven 4Runner. Maybe it’s the second batch that I got that was a fluke. Follow up on my review. I decided to give it a four stars after several months. The car is easier to clean and it seems the road grimes removes easily. The black gloss is easier to maintain. I use the cerakote paint sealant and it seems like the cerakote ceramic coat works better with the sealant. The picture I attached is a close up of the hood of my car.

Glassy smooth finish
Beads my car's paint when going through the car wash making it easy to clean. Love how it made the sparkles in the paint pop.

Glossy shine
Exactly what you expect from a ceramic coating. Water beads off. Ease of application and u don’t need a whole lot. The vehicle looks brand new and has a glossy shine. Use for personal and customers and can tell you it hasn’t had any complaint back. After this is applied cleaning is easy. Just a once over with some shampoo and foam and no problem.
