I do a lot of steaming of organic vegetables and was using whatever I found at a discount store.The other day I searched Amazon and am grateful I found this beautiful "quality" 8 quart piece to partner with me daily as I passionately create and cook healthy delicious nutritious foods.I am single and cook for an army, lol.The quality is superior and can endure up to 600 degrees!No burning the bottom of the pot and steamed with ease!I love the line measurements engraved inside the pot!Provided the perfect amount of water for the steaming! My Brussel sprouts, butter squash, broccoli steamed perfectly and the bright colors remained.The weight is perfect and I look forward to cooking pastas! The functionality so easy! The pot gets great, even heat distribution (even on our electric range), and is easy to clean. Some food tends to stick, but de-glazing solves the problem. Cleans easily with a bit of detergent and water, but if there's some stuck particles, I soak it (sometimes overnight). This is high quality cookware and it's much safer and (hopefully) longer lasting than any of the non-stick and often disposable pots and pans that are similarly priced.

Can't go wrong with All Clad. Beautiful classic cookware. This pasta pot is a great size, great straining lid feature. It doubles as a pot for chili or other large pot needs. Multi function in other words. Cleans easily, definitely strong and sturdy quality as you'd expect.

We did our research and All Clad has, so far, lived up to it's reputation. The quality is great and made in USA. The price is worth it as they are built to last for decades. We handed down another brand of perfectly fine 30 year old (Farberware) mid range quality stainless to our son to upgrade to this higher end stainless collection and are happy with the decision. We only needed select pieces as we also purchased a full set of All Clad non stick pots and pans.

Bought for one purpose alone to boil potatoes and make mashed potatoes! Does an excellent job, well made, excellent quality! Takes some use to the lid.

Great pot! Cooks and strains for any size group. Much more functional than the All Clad 3-piece pasta sets. (Yes, I own small and large sizes, but this replaces both with ease.)

I received a defective pot. It looked brand new and unopened, no dents or scratches to speak of, but the thick, clad bottom piece has a noticeable gap between it and the rest of the pot on one side. It looked like it was welded or attached slightly off center. The other side had a tight seal with no gap. Attaching photos of both sides. I'm returning this one and re-ordering the same item, so will update review later. Seems great other than the defect, which is why I am trying again.*Update*I sent the defective pot back, and ordered a new one. The second one arrived recently. The box looked as though it has been previously opened, but the contents was in great shape. I used the pot/strainer this weekend to make a big batch of turkey stock. Works great! Strainer basket makes it much easier to pull the bones and other simmering ingredients out of the stock.
