Fantastic picture quality
This is an excellent camera with great picture quality. Even in suboptimal lighting conditions, fine details can be made out easily. The construction is solid as well, with a thick outer shell and hard plastic camera cover, fitting for a vandal-proof camera. You can choose to run the power and ethernet cables out of the back of the camera, say, through a hole in a wall, or you can remove a rubber insert to divert the cable out of one side.I was worried about range of motion, but the camera can pivot along a wide range, up and down, and nearly 360 degrees around. The wide FOV allows you to see a lot from any position. This camera easily connects to AgentDVR, and AgentDVR is even able to use data from the camera's AI motion and object detection to tag videos (with keywords including "detected", "vehicle", "people", "animal") or trigger recordings. FTP recording also works very well, although I had trouble with Auto/PASV transport and had to set it to Port to get it to work properly. The only problem I've had, along with other Reolink cameras, is switching between day and night modes. I guess my porch is just a bit too dark. In the morning, the camera won't switch to day mode until at least 3 hours past sunrise. It also doesn't switch over when my porch light is turned on at night, and it's a really powerful bulb. This doesn't significantly affect clarity, it just means it doesn't show colors when it reasonably could.

Camera installed a few days ago - seems to work well
I haven't extensively tested night vision or motion detection, but the camera works well in its indoor application in my basement. Picture quality is quite good. The Reolink Client software works well with Windows 11 PCs, IOS devices, but fails to work with my MacBook Air running the Sonoma version of MacOS. It failed with the previous version, Ventura as well. Two different Mac's (also a MacMini 2018) showed the same result. Given that two different PC's worked fine, I can only conclude that the Mac version is not ready for prime time. The Mac problem exists with two different Reolink camera models including this one. With IOS and Windows 11 as well as logging into the camera via the web, the RLC-1240A produces good results. I have installed micro SD storage in this camera as well as a different Reolink model - storage works well. In all, a good camera. But suggest that Reolink fix the Mac Reolink Client.

Night color recording a huge disappointment
I am a huge fan of Reolink cameras. I own 8 of them. Unfortunately, I chose to upgrade one of them to the RLC-1240A. Big disappointment. The day vision was excellent. At night, however, the promised color night vision simply did not work. After a lot of fussing with the software, I got the system to sort of function, but the color vision only showed up where I have sidewalk lighting (low voltage). When I turned off the sidewalk lighting I just got black, even with the "brightness" turned all the way up. When motion triggered the spotlights contained in the dome, it appears that there may be some color out there, but the lights just reflect back into the lens showing mostly glare. Photos taken by the previous camera show the night photos in color (after the motion detector triggers the spotlights) and in infrared boosted black and white (before the motion triggers the spots). I will be returning this camera and reinstalling the old one. Too bad because (a) I really wanted this to work and (b) installing this camera was more than twice the trouble I have had with other Reolink cameras.

good picture.
I had purchased a 12mb, eight camera set with a recorder that will hookup sixteen cameras. I wanted to slowly add cameras where I need them and this one was on sale ten dollars cheaper than the non security ones. It is how ever a very nice camera. The only difference in this one and the others I got, this one is vandal proof. It does have a good picture. A person would have to carry a small Allen wrench (included with camera) to remove the dome cover to expose the camera. After you get the cover off you can adjust what the camera sees. Still have a few more to buy so I wouldn't be apposed another one of these if price is right.

Great add on for the home security system
I can't tell a difference in the picture quality of the 8M and this 12M camera. The date and time display is much larger and easier to read on the 12M. Audio is better as well. Built to endure most physical abuse. This camera has frozen up a few times and had to be reset. I don't have Internet so cannot update DVR software.

Superb image quality
I mounted this camera on the wall next to my front door, and with its wide field of view, I am able to see the porch and the end of the sidewalk leading up to it. It is easy to set up with the Reolink app, and easy to view clips stored on the memory card. I recommend getting the largest card that the camera accepts, 512 GB. IMHO, "vandalproof" should mean that the potential vandal should not be easily able to cut the wire(s). This should be easily achievable with a junction box on which the camera would mount. Unfortunately, the junction box specified for this camera is not available from Amazon (or anywhere else on the web, as far as I can tell). I purchased a Reolink D20 box knowing that I would have to drill and machine my own holes to match the holes in the camera base. I did this and it worked fine.

SOBRE REOLINK RLC-1240A
BASTANTE BIEN 👍

Works great in Unifi protect, Home Assistant and Reolink desktop and iphone app.
Excellent camera, especially for the price. The extra viewing angle of 145 degrees, was the primary feature I was looking for. With the Reolink integration, this works perfectly in my HomeAssistant automation, Unifi Protect finds it as a third party camera with no issue (less some proprietary features by ubiquiti), and the Reolink app on PC or iPhone is pretty slick to configure. I now have 2 of these cameras and would not hesitate to buy again.I am using with with Cat6 PoE.

Reolink PoE cameras with an NVR, and I couldn't be happier with the decision
I recently upgraded my home security system from Blink and Tapo cameras to Reolink PoE cameras with an NVR, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. All of the cameras have been performing flawlessly since installation. The image quality and clarity are outstanding, providing sharp, detailed footage both day and night. The cameras are exceptionally well-built, and the mounting brackets are sturdy and of excellent quality, making installation straightforward and secure.I also had to contact Reolink's customer support a few times with setup-related questions, and each experience was excellent. Their team was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely committed to resolving my issues quickly.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with both the product and the customer service. The upgrade has exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend Reolink to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality surveillance system.

Good camera
The image quality is excellent on this camera. I'm especially impressed by its performance in low light. I use it to talk to people in my driveway and I can hear them very well. I also appreciate that it doesn't send a lot of unnecessary notifications and it's detection between motion animals. People and vehicles works really well. The issue I had with this camera initially was that it stopped working anytime. The temperature went below. 0° c and then would come back on again once it warmed up. After some back and forth with customer service, reolink sent me a replacement and so far that one's been working well. I have five other cameras by reolink and this is the first time I've had an issue so hopefully it was just a bad luck for this one.
