As comfrtable as your favorite pajamas!
It has been over 3 decades since I have purchased and worn corduroy pants. So I did not know what to expect fitment wise. So naturally, I went with my normal pants waist and inseam size to start. When I received them, they were way too big. Both in waist and length. So big that I thought I had lost weight. In order to confirm this, I tried on a pair of jeans that were a size too small for me, that I had on hand. And they still did not fit! I returned them for a size down in both waist and inseam, and they fit perfect. With room to spare. You may want to consider downsizing by one size from your normal size. After trying on the correct size, I could not believe how comfortable these pants are! It felt as if I was wearing my comfortable fleece pajama pants! there is a lot of give in these pants. Especially in the waist. They seem to stretch somewhat as well. Which is a comfort when crouching, and bending at the knees. The pockets are deep enough so you will not loose change or any other items. And they are at least double stitched at the seams. They live up to Levi's reputation of excellent quality control. I will be purchasing more of these corduroys in the very near future.

Warm yet breathable; runs a tad long.
This is my first pair of corduroy pants, just in time for winter. The pants do a remarkable job of maintaining warmth, even in single digit weather. They also hold up to wind better than denim jeans. Surprisingly, the pants are also breathable. I wore them for a few hotter weeks of fall and was impressed with the air flow. The pants have a fair amount of crotch space, and run slimmer down the thigh. My only grievance is that they ran a tad long. This works great for wearing them with boots (and the pants are more for warm weather), but I have to cuff them when I'm not wearing shoes. And even with a properly sized belt, the pants bunch somewhat due to their length.

Made to fit relaxed but not look too sloppy, beware storage/transport damages
There seems to be an issue with how Levi stores or transports these, because many have permanent imprinting/scratches in the corduroy pattern from retail hangars (those with the two clips) anywhere along the whole pant, like they were tossed upon each other with the clips still on in huge piles until the weight was so heavy it permanently damaged the fabric. I had to return two to Levi directly because they were so bad before trying Amazon and finally got one that was only slightly damaged, not too noticeable unless you were looking for it.They fit alright, maybe more for the kind of guy who wears his jeans lower on the hips than most jeans even usually are because if you don't then the top of the inseam will awkwardly come right up between your balls. The 513s manage to fit more snugly without doing this, so it seems clear that these 514s are made to sag a bit and to be a little more loose and casual. If you know that and are fine with it, they will serve their purpose well. I don't really think of corduroy as a slim/clean-cut look type material, so I don't mind. Also, the touch of stretch is nice to finally have in a guys jean; We move too!

great pants, with some stretch
We were nervous because after ordering we noticed it was supposed to be 42x30 instead of 40x30. Well the stretch helped. They were not tight at all around the waist and he reports them to have a great feel and that they were soft. I loved how they look being a slimmer cut and not too tight around d the butt and crotch. They looked great. Also, we rushed shipped them and they were here before the time quoted.... great Job on that!

The fit looks good on my small-medium frame and they feel like they'll ...
I'm from the camp that hates spending money on clothes. I used to buy my pants from cheap outlets, but I'm sick of quality issues ranging from buttons coming out, zippers always falling down, pockets getting holes the first time I put my keys in them. These are a quality pair of pants that are worth the extra $10-$15 that I'd normally spend. The fit looks good on my small-medium frame and they feel like they'll last for years rather than months.

Bad belt loops and baggy
Bought these for my 6'4" husband who weighs 190 and has a 36" inseam. They were actually a little long on him, but fit ok otherwise (although he said they were too baggy). His biggest complaint, and the reason for three stars, is that the belt loops were too big and placed in less effective places (no middle loop on the back) and made the pant sag. He wears these for work (research professor, so he needed dressy to teach but rugged for the lab) and the looped sagging on the waist and the bunching at the ankle just don't look professional. It is so hard to find corduroy pants for someone so tall, but we will go back to hunting for another brand.

Tense-fit jeans
I'm no youngster so I wanted a conservative look to my jeans (without factory-installed rips in the knees, machine fading, etc.). I hadn't worn a pair of Levi's for many, many years. Though my last pair was made in the USA (in the '70's?) these aren't. They seem to be well-made though. Time will tell.Big box stores seem only to have relaxed-fit jeans, which are way too baggy for me. I need a fit that's closer to the other end of the spectrum: the opposite of relaxed-fit which I jokingly call "tense-fit." These are slim-fit (not skinny fit) and work well for me.

Glad These Are Back on the Market
Levi cords are and have been for decades my favorite casual pants. Unfortunately they disappear for years on end with only occasional reappearances, especially in the dark blue which is my preferred color. With traditional American sizing, they're just a tad larger than current trends. For reference, I have a 40 waist but sometimes go to 42 for comfort, depending on the brand. If you straddle sizes, between 40 and 42, or 38 to 40, etc., go with the smaller waist size. Lengths are as expected.
