This may be what i'm looking for, but i'm curious, as this is powered via sata power cable from psu, how do you control speeds? i don't see a knob.

all fan speeds are based on the speed of the fan in the glossy slot (9 matte black slots, 1 glossy black slot). motherboard detects the glossy fan slot only. fans will always run at full speed if you do not use the glossy slot. source: https://www.thermaltake.com/C_00002702.htm "* Only the channel port with glossy side support RPM signal detection"

will it work with icue and/or aura sync softwares?

No as it has no RGB ports, and only 1 PWM port has speed control so there is nothing for them to do. This is for when your iCue system fails as many do.

So this powers the fans but how would I control rgb?

This does not allow for RGB control, it only allows for default RGB lights.

Do these work with sp120 fans?

As long as they're pwm fans that use the standard 3 or 4 pin design if they only have 3 pins you won't be able to control the speed and they'll run at 100%
