No Sleep and a Cranky Wife
No one wants to learn from a vacation that your house had squatters when returning. I've never dealt with such problems in adulthood, so naturally I went to my expert friend Google, and compared options. From childhood, I remember being woke up by snapping traps, once hearing a poor trapped thing clatter about when it's tail was caught, but not it's head. Worse was my dad smacking the ground and missing the scrambling thing with his shoe...until he didn't. So these traps sounded like an option that wouldn't keep me up at night or traumatize anyone with bad shoe aim.It did, in fact, keep me up at night (Though thankfully, no whacking with shoes needed)The box arrived around 5:45pm. Do be prepared these take 4 AA batteries each. Luckily, my wife is a hoarder of such goods. The light flicked green, then the thing went dormant. So dormant, I wondered if it was working. But I figured I had nothing to lose leaving them down, and I could always send them back if they didn't work. Of course, like any impulsive purchase made after one raving review, I found some less-than-savory ones, so I began to worry. You also need peanut butter. For full disclosure, I found some old "Jif" in my pantry which we used.I had no need to worry. We camped in the living room, owing to our sheets and bed needing cleaning from our squatter problem. I was up late, listening to the patter of tiny squatters, and finally forced myself to sleep. I hit that right state of sleep that it's rude to wake someone during, when a loud buzz woke me. No squeak, no squeal, just a clear electric buzz for almost 10 seconds. I turned to my nearest trap, and when the buzz stopped, a green light went off. So I drug myself off the couch at 12:30am, found some gloves, and went for the trap. Sure enough, when I got to my outside dumpster, I dumped the cartridge to a satisfying *thump*. I hadn't check earlier if there was indeed a corpse, not wanting to actually see my victim's remains. But that's not all.I go back inside, checked the batteries in the device (still strong), and put the trap back where I had ensnared a squatter. That's when I saw it. The second trap had a green light. My wife then says, "I have work tomorrow, turn the light of and go to bed." Like any husband, I was so focused on one task I hadn't processed her words yet, and I stared to see the green light blink again. I sigh, luckily not having removed the gloves yet, and went for the second device. I go outside, and I'm met with a neighborhood stray cat. He looks at me, and I at him. He seemed to know what I carried, and I made a questionable choice. I dumped the cartridge toward him, and the cat ran off with it's prize. I only realized later, I probably shouldn't have paid it for my de-mousing the neighborhood. So I returned, ready for some sleep. I reset the second trap, took off the gloves, washed my hands, and sat down. Figuring the drama over, I rolled to the side and saw a flashing green light by my door. The first trap was already full again. It was at this point my wife was getting mad, as the lights went on again while I dealt with this. No stray got this prize, as the thump joined it's friend in the dumpster. When I came back and reset the trap again, both traps sat dormant. So I went back to dreamland. I'll have you know, I was woken twice more. No buzz was ever as obnoxious as the first. Indeed one I thought was my phone vibrating, and the other was my dog bolting up and barking (The second thoroughly irritating my already irritable wife, who had work in 2 hours and had only small sleep thanks to this purchase). All told, I write this 12 hours from the delivery of the box, and 7 of my squatters have had a shocking end of life experience. I hazarded a glance in my trash can this morning, finding 6 varying mouse bodies when I just made the last dump a few minutes ago. I can confirm what was trapped was indeed the vermin who thought our vacation would be theirs as well.Let me pause to say I think the number just went to 8 as I write this, as that was not my phone vibrating. So I shall conclude with this as I need to don more gloves and check another device. After finding our home alarmingly invaded, these devices kept us from sleeping, made my wife cranky, and helped reclaim our home from squatters. While I feel sorry for my wife's co-workers who must deal with her on minimal sleep after a vacation, I do not feel bad for my purchase. All 8 batteries spent (4 per trap) are still going strong, and if you're squeamish there's no need to look. Simply pick up the device, power it down, and open the hatch when only over a trashcan. I would probably bag the bodies if you don't have outside receptacles, as these things can carry nasty diseases. The only way these could be better is if they would scrub my house free of the squatter's trash and feces, as I've been told is my job today by a very cranky and sleep deprived wife.

Worth every penny!
OK, letโs be honest โ this is not something that you want to have to buy. But if you have an infestation of mice, this is your best solution. Easy to use and especially easy to empty. Open the trap door dump into a bag, put into the trash! Itโs as easy as that. They may not be cheap, but worth every penny. I got eight and thought that might be too many. It wasnโt. Thatโs my only suggestion โ get enough to take care of the job quick and easy.

Usually these are great, but I had 1 dud.
These traps are usually great. We have a few of them. I bought a 2 pack and didn't use them right away. 1 works fine, the other does not. I set it up and in a few days came back and the bait was gone but no mouse. I figured that maybe the batteries were not good, so tried again.....same thing. I even tried it a third time, thinking that maybe I forgot to load it with peanut butter the 2nd time, but still doesn't work. So....by now my return window has expired. Bummer. At least one of them works. Moral of the story....don't wait to use them. Do it right away so you can get a refund on any non-working trap. Didn't even occur to me that there's be a problem.

Works exceptionally well and is a far more humane approach
Wow. I had a mouse in my home office and it took one day, actually just overnight, to catch the little guy. This product definitely works well. I donโt believe a full-size rat will fit into it but a smaller rat might.I received the traps yesterday and put batteries in and activated them last night. For bait, I took a half peanut and dipped it into peanut butter and dropped it into the bait well(the very small black area near the vent and). I woke up this morning, walked into my office and looked down at the trap to see a green flashing light. It worked flawlessly. I picked it up, turned it off walked out to the garbage can and dumped it out. Then I turned it on again with the same bait and put it in the same spot in my office. This is as easy as it gets.Where a mouse problem last year, and I used the baits that dehydrate the mouse. As I was leaving the house one day there was a mouse just curled up in a ball in pain with his abdomen, and most of his body swollen to double its normal size. I felt absolutely horrible. I still feel guilty about that. I canโt imagine the pain that poor Animal is in and its last hours. This. . I still feel guilty about that. I canโt imagine the pain that poor Animal is in and itโs last hours. This system is far more humane! It was quick, and I donโt have to worry about where the mouse went to die and decay and no maggots and flies. This is the way to go. Itโs a great product. Easy to use, easy to clean and compact enough that you can put it into an area that your pets will not get into it. I really love the green light flash when a rodent has been caught, and I love the fact that the light turns red when the batteries need changing. This could be one of the best products Iโve purchased this year. I bought the two pack.

They work. I caught one in 4 hours.
Well I tried 8 poison blocks. Nothing as far as I know. and who wants that smell??? So I put out this and within four hours I caught a mouse. Reset it easily and ready again.I watched a video on how to put in batteries and bait the back wall with a pea size peanut butter on the end of a stick.I carefully avoided anything on the metal.I grabbed gloves and a plastic Trash bag and took the whole enchilada outside just incase it wasn't dead dead. Ew.I peeked to see the catch. And wrapped it up and then put it in another bag to toss with the trash. Then I ordered two more traps. Since this works I'd rather just use this.I moved the poison stations to a huge hanger and am hopeful to catch the second mouse I saw scramble.Ew. Have the heebie jeebies.Yeah imma candy azz. Lol.Bad news this uses 4 aa batteries. But I'm with it.Fun to see the green flicker lightI should mention. These ideally work when you ARE around to empty them rather quickly. Otherwise you will get dead mouse smell.

It works!!
This is just one of those products that you have to write a review for because it works!!!! I needed something that didnโt have anything to do with poison because I have pets at home and this was absolutely perfect. We caught the mouse on the second night after placing it somewhere I knew for sure that he was passing by. I also had the satisfaction of hearing the device go off in real time at night before I went to sleep. When I woke up, I went to check and there it was the green light flashing and I could clearly see the mouse was inside the trap. Best part is you can just dispose of it and reuse the device!! Totally worth it.

May work for small mice
From what I can tell, these only work for very small mice. I have deer mice here in Texas and they have very long tails. I did not find this product useful for sizable mice. Again, they might work fine for small mice but for sizable mice, not so much. Your experience May differ.

Effective and Easy to Use, but Ongoing Battery Cost
These electronic mouse traps are simple to set up and much cleaner than traditional snap traps. The design keeps you from having to touch the mouse directly, and disposal is quick and hygienic. I also like that the traps can be reused multiple times. The traps worked as intended during testing, and the indicator lights make it easy to know when a catch has occurred. Build quality feels solid, and the units are compact enough to place along walls or in tight spaces where rodents typically travel. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they require batteries, which adds some ongoing cost and maintenance compared to basic mechanical traps. Depending on usage, battery life may vary.Overall, these are effective, convenient, and much less messy than traditional options. A good choice for anyone looking for a more modern rodent control solution.

They are edible ๐ซฃ
There are some hexagonal holes at the rear of the device to allow the aroma of peanut butter (or whatever bait you use) to get to the mouse's nose. However, in my case, the mouse has eaten through the plastic to get to the bait. This is clearly a design fault - this area should be reinforced with metal. Other than this, the trap works very efficiently and we have caught several mice with it
