I use the similar device sometime ago and because I started to grow veggies in my garden and also i have created a setup indoor I wanted to get the correct light reading in order to know how to set up the lights and with the help of this device I have managed to do so. The user manual was very helpful for me to understand how to operate these device and I like the fact that it comes with rod which is pretty handy and related to its built in quality, I would say it is more defined for this type of device and also the batteries are included (you know the to open the compartment at the back there is a small screw and also the screwdriver is provided in the pack). It took a bit of time to understand how to do the readings correctly but after I tried for a couple of times I managed to do it right because I understood all the process properly. But particularly for my use this device works as it should and it helped me to get the data that I wanted in order to set up the indoor lights.

For amateurs wanting a high quality light sensor at an affordable price this device is well worth cosidering. The sensor is professional quality. The sensor comes with a useful extension for extra reach. The data recording is not so good. It would not meet the needs of a professional grower. For example, logged data cannot be downloaded. Fortunately, I have little helpers with notebooks to help me keep a good historica record. My hope is this light meter will help me to master a difficult growing environment, that experiences variable shade from all directions, throughout the day. I may also use it occasionally when inspecting conservation sites. Good value for money.

Getting illumination reading for my hydroponic garden was tedious since my light meter is not made for this, providing lux reading for white light, while all the literature talks about umol reading and different colour spectrum. Now I can check reading directly and was able to correct the light for my salad, which started growing better. This is a specialized device, and the cost reflects that. For such a device, the price is good. There are some basic logs that can be tracked, but this is not a device that can be hooked to a computer, for that, you need a more expensive model. This is fine with me, being able to read DLI for my outdoor location is good enough, I don't need to track them on computer. The accessories are OK, you got all you need to get started. The pole is a typical selfie stick, but the end bracket is replaced with a more robust metal plate. It gets the job done. Overall I'm pretty pleased and this stops me from guessing the correct illumination.
