Effective and Versatile Tape for Various Needs
I recently picked up the Gocableties Aluminium Foil Tape, and I've gotta say, it's been a solid addition to my toolbox. The size is just right - 100mm wide and a nice length of 50m. That’s a lot of tape for the price!I’ve used it mainly for insulating a few ducts and sealing some pipework in my garage, and it’s performed really well. The adhesive sticks nicely without peeling off, even in a somewhat humid environment. I appreciate that it's easy to cut too; you don’t need any fancy tools for that, just a pair of scissors or even just ripping it with your hands works in a pinch.Another thing worth mentioning is that it’s pretty versatile. I’ve found it helpful not just for HVAC purposes but also for some crafting projects, minor repairs, and keeping things in place where you need something a bit stronger than regular tape. While I haven't had any issues with it, I’d recommend making sure the surfaces you're applying it to are clean for the best adhesion. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase. It’s a practical, no-fuss product that gets the job done without any hassle. Definitely a keeper in my home improvement supplies!

Paper backing nightmare
Dislike the paper backing as it's a nightmare to peel off. The product itself does stick well but takes so long to prepare. Not a trade choice at all but diy is fine.

Aluminium Foil Adhesive Insulation Tape
I have used this tape for some under sink pipework, it is leak proof and does the job, also used as a sun reflector on the backside of seedling planters in the garden, I had a problem with pigeons sitting on the edge of our flat roof until I run a strip of this tape on the top side of the roof WOW no more pigeons, I would suggest not to use it from the roll, but measure what you need and cut to size. This tape has a wide variety of uses professional and otherwise and I would say, with a 50meter roll it is value for money. The only negative thing I would say is, you have to be careful when applying your tape to any surface, it is very adhesive and you have to get you starting position right because once you apply your tape and if you get it wrong it is difficult to remove and start over without wasting any tape, but with a 50meter roll you have enough for a bit of trial and error. Happy sticking.

I like it, reordered ...
i have used this shiny tape for various things, it is a long roll, very adhesive and wide. Being Alluminium it does take some patience, but i think this roll is as good as any. I have used it for covering my plastic mudguards when restoring a bicycle to add a bit of a retro look. I have also used about 15m plus over featheredge wood borders to deter slugs, it will almost certainly preserve the wood, stand upto the weather and very adhesive. The skill evolves, if trying to get a really smooth finish it is difficult but i think that will be the case with any adhesive tape. Develop technicque and concentrate on preparation ie remove all obstacles, have clear working area as you really need to avoid the tape sticking to itself due to extreme adhesiveness. I prefer and recommend highly adhesive as with this you know it ain't gonna peel or fall off. You have loads so if you aren't totally happy with a job you can always have another go and another and another if you wish as you get so much. you can cut it into small precise shapes first. If i can raise my skill levels i think you could do some amazing designs and creativity with this. I guess the target is things like vents, and ducts and stuff but it could be used in a more ornamental way though it is difficult to get an absolutely perfect, crease free finish on anything with curves but that is down to physics. I have just reordered mainly for gardening projects but might just cover everything with it as i love so much, car, bike, laptop everything!

Fantastic - it works
I had accidentally knocked my extract fan vent going into the attic out of line which meant there was a gap between the vent and hose pipe connector. In the winter, the steamy air extracted via the extrator fan ended up condensing back and causing a leak. I bought evo stick glue to attach it properly onto the connector, then i used 3 rounds of this tape (i had bought the large width one, in hind sight was too big for the operation i was doing) and a week later- its fixed!

Mixed feelings
I found this product by searching for 'speed tape'. Certainly, I did not expect to find real speed tape, but I thought I might find a reasonable substitute. I was attracted to this product by its width as I had a job on hand that would benefit from a 100 mm wide tape. The positive aspects of this tape are its width and its adhesion. The negative aspects are that it is very thin and has a backing tape that must be removed.I found the backing tape inconvenient: it is difficult to remove and when it comes off, the metal part tends to curl up and self-adhere. Great care is needed. In fact, using this product is very like using narrow sheets of sticky-back plastic and requires a similar technique. The metal tape itself is very flimsy, tearing easily. I imagine it is assumed that it will be used in layers and, in act, it would probably conform quite well to irregular shapes. But if you are looking for a sturdy reinforcing tape to cover surface damage, this not really the product you need.
