I needed a new pair of sneakers w support to reduce my knee/back pain when working on my feet for extended periods of time. I’m not a runner but walk a lot. These are extremely comfortable right out of the box, helped reduce my knee/back pain after being on my feet at work and look really cute/athletic. I got my normal 7 1/2 and they fit great with enough room in the toe box. Thought about getting the wide to give my wider foot more room especially for longer walks in the summer but I’m glad I didn’t bc these have good width with plenty of room for movement or swelling. I think the wide would’ve been too big.

I usually run in Ghost but have been having some hip and foot pain. This is definitely a thicker sole with a slightly spongy feel. My pros are extra padding, easy to fit (took same size as my regular Ghost. a half size up from a regular shoe). My cons are the midfoot feel like it has a ridge (but getting used to it- I think it's the "rocker", the extra height is noticeable and padding makes for a less then springy stride. Reminds me of the Altra Torin but with a drop. Definitely not a tempo run shoe but should be ok for easy runs. If it ends up not making my old lady pains better I will go back to the regular Ghost.

I absolutely LOVE ALL of my Brooks shoes, but the Ghost Max are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE OF ALL!! They are so comfortable, get me through long shifts at the hospital I work at and even will carry me further into a full hour and a half workout (after work)!! I have two identical pairs (same size and color) AND 2 OTHER PAIRS of the GHOST MAX (for when the others wear out). I tried the GHOST MAX 2, but I really prefer the fit and overall feel of the “original” Ghost Max. Get these while you can, because they are getting more and more difficult to find!
