It works!
I bought a cheap laptop and gave it a fresh Win 10 install. Installed all the VNCI software. I use it as a dedicated laptop with no personal information on it whatsoever.Originally had trouble connecting wifi P2P. My laptop just refused. Support went through everything and decided to have me try a wifi dongle. And that made it all work. Kudos to the support staff.

Nope
It didn't work in any way, just tricks software with driver mods. Not worth it

It worked right out of the box.
I was hesitant since there were no reviews, but I didn't want to pay well over $500 for a Ford-approved scan tool. I didn't load any of the software that came on the CD. Yeah, it came with a CD that was exactly like the kind you could burn yourself and it was even labeled "VCM3" with a red sharpie written by hand. The CD came with an old version of Java, the Ford software, and the firmware updater software for this adapter, and a couple of other programs that they tell you to use if you don't have a license. I wasn't feeling like Jack Sparrow, so I didn't install that or anything on the CD or from their website. What can I say, I have trust issues.I didn't even update the firmware on the adapter either. I just connected it to my laptop and paid Ford $50 for a two-day license to use their FJDS software. All I needed to do was get into PATS and hit "reset parameters" so that my car would start. I had to turn the ignition off, try to start, fail with "starting system fault", turn off and try again and then it started. So in the end, this adapter actually worked and did what it said it could do. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks to this tool, I can now drive my car again.
