Elixir Electric Bass Strings, Nickel Plated Steel-NANOWEB, 4-String, 45-100

I have been playing bass for many years in both original and cover bands and have played many styles of music: Metal, Punk, Rock, Pop, Slap, Country, and Jazz. I play a Warwick Streamer LX and these strings give me the growl and character tone that is so recognizable of Warwick basses. I gig about every two weeks and practice almost every day so these strings get a lot of play time. It has been about 7 months since I ordered my last set of Elixer Light, Long Scale, NANOWEB strings and they are just now begining to dull in tone. I have been completely satisfied with these strings. Comfortable to play, great tone, and last forever. Musicians on a budget will appreciate the longevity of these strings. Warwick players will appreciate the nice-n-growly tone. Excellent product!!

I don't change my string enough. But when I do I use Elixir because it has a nicer feel on the fingers and lasts 3 to 4 times as long. This is the first set I have bought for bass as I usually need guitar strings. I recommend Elixir to all my musician friends.

I have been playing bass forever and tried pretty much all the top brands. I use them on everything from my vintage Fenders to my upper end 5 str USA Tobias. Nothing else lasts nearly as long as the Elixers. They produce killer tone and they keep perfect tune. Another plus for me, particularly in the studio, is string noise is minimal from finger movement due to the coating. I have used several top name coated strings, which I will not mention the names, and they just do not measure up. So they may seem a little expensive but not really when you factor it all in. Plus they have the best sound for me. I play with a very busy regional band and gig 3 to 5 times a week. I don't work for or get any endorsements from Elixer (but I would be glad to send them several cds :)... so this is not an add. Just a review for the curious. Stay in the pocket, Ray.

I'm not writing this review about the set I just purchased. I'm writing about three sets I purchased over 5 years ago and am still using. I got these for a new bass. Great even tone. Looooonngggg life! I can't recommend highly enough.

In my opinion, elixir bass strings are the best. Long lasting, better sound.

I am a 35 year veteran of bass and have used GHS Bass Boomers for as long as I can remember. Was looking some strings that would last longer and not get gunned up by my plucking fingers. These work very well and the sound is fantastic. Rich lows, bright highs, and solid mids. The only thing I'm getting used to is they are a bit slick. I play mainly a four string with very well dressed frets. The low E can slip off the neck if I'm playing aggressively or fast and don't pay attention where the Bass Boomers didn't. It seems the slickness if the coating may make that easier to do so I'm trying to adjust because I absolutely love the sound of these strings.

I always know what I am getting when I buy a pack of these. The light gauge pack fits my American Precision bass well with no tuning problems or inconsistencies, plus I love the slick feel and long life

Strings arrived on time and was given as a gift. Grandson had them installed quickly without fuss and was quite happy with them. Good service and a good product.

I've used these strings for many years after trying a fair variety of other brands. When new they don't have that excessively bright tone of new round wound strings, so if you like that sound and are prepared to keep buying new sets, then go with that. When I used to get non coated strings the tone would start out very bright and then just keep getting worse for ever. What I like about nano web is they start out with the sound of a slightly played in set and then pretty much stay that way forever. I have mostly gone several years between changes and even then it is because eventually they break, as do all strings in the end, but they still sound fine up to that point. They are quite an expensive string in the first place but they last way longer and I'm sure they cost less in the long run.
