CARNATION Lactose Free Milk Tetra 8x11oz

This product allows me to make and enjoy my pumpkin pies even though I am very Lactose Intolerant. It tastes and cooks just like the regular one, my pies turn out perfect every time and no one notices the difference! These are so hard to find in stores and I am thrilled to find them on Amazon!

The best thing about Nestle's Carnation lactose-free evaporated milk is that it still has the taste, the mouth feel as the original that I remember as a child. I use with my coffee. I use it over ice cream. I even use it in cream soups. It has great versatility and dissolvability. Definitely a quality product.

While I need to use lactose free milk in baking, the richness of this product lets me use it while keeping the richness needed to create a wonderfully tasty dessert!

Lactose-free! It's so useful to have on hand for power outages. I also use this in place of (single strength) lactose-free milk for extra protein in casseroles, bread puddings, in place of water for cooking oatmeal, etc. as well as in recipes calling for evaporated milk. The packaging is easy to open, pour, and reseal. The only downside is that it can go bad (yellow, lumpy, bad smell) if you store at room temperature and don't use it up in a reasonable time. But it's reasonably priced, so I don't mind tossing the last couple.

If you are lactose intolerant, this is the one and only product that is lactose free evaporated cow's milk. Its pricey - costing more than regular evaporated milk but, I can't find ANY alternative let alone a cheaper one. Now if they'd only make a lactose free sweetened condensed milk (the only alternative I can find is sweetened condensed coconut milk - and it doesn't taste the same as the cow's milk version). And, a lactose free powdered milk product would be great too. I can't find ANY of these milk products no matter what the brand or price. The unavailability of these products is kind of puzzling considering that about 30% of Americans are to some extent lactose intolerant.
